[Windows] Vivaldi Mod Manager
-
@Dancer18 Download from https://gitlab.com/Neur0toxine/vivaldimodmanager/-/releases/v0.2.5 the VivaldiModManager.zip , extract to a program folder of your choice and you start the exe.
-
@DoctorG I downloaded and extracted the zip file, but did not find an .exe.
-
-
Do you have extracted the .zip file? Your .exe file has an older date...
-
@Dancer18 Why did you fetched the source?
This is the file https://gitlab.com/Neur0toxine/vivaldimodmanager/uploads/65e64848bbfb8f80db6dc6c5b8ae3ed8/VivaldiModManager.zip -
@DoctorG Strange. I had - after a failed attempt in Windows - extracted the zip file in Linux. Previously, it was never a problem to find an .exe file in the extracted folder even in Linux.
In this case, however, strangely not.
In the new attempt in Windows it worked now. Thank you very much!

@Dancer18 You got a different file when downloading under Linux?
Lemme check…No, on Debian 11 Linux i always got the zip file with the exe and the dll file.
I do not know why Gitlab send you the wrong file. -
@DoctorG Oh, I see in your yellow highlighted screenshot that I did NOT download this exact file, but the source code above. I missed the correct one and then assumed the zip file was the correct one....
-
@Dancer18 Such can happen
-
@DoctorG Can I ask you for details?
So far I have several mods combined in acustom.js
. What does it need for the manager? Save each mod as a file and load it? Or work with the integrated editor? I tried that once with 1 mod, but it gave an error message...Edit: The Mod
Choose Search engine in Address bar
doesn't work. May be I have to reboot... -
@Dancer18 I am not the author of the mod, can not tell you what to do for fixing.
-
@DoctorG Yes I know. At the moment I fixed my issue in another way. I will later have another look on the Mod Manager.
-
how to download
-
@RishitBhardwaj I'd stick to the default modding method.
Latest versions is from
4 years old
and I doubt will work fine anymore. -
@Hadden89
there is a exe file for this mod
latest as in adding the script to html right ?
what js file would that be -
@RishitBhardwaj Is not a mod but a mod manager (a GUI) to handle installed mods in a different way.
The js is to "connect" the exe with vivaldi, but being years old is potentially broken. -

There are disadvantages, but uncritical. In general, more convenient than the Vivaldi staffing mechanism, especially since it allows you to connect not only css files, but also js files without problems. -

@kichrot You just need an update script. You can have both js and css files in the same folder. Only exception are page actions, which should be kept in a separate folder to load from there. Few use custom ones, however. Of course, nothing speaks against a program to do it for you, if you don’t want to code it, but you will be left stranded, if something changes.
