@luetage Editing the theme to make it darker or lighter does not help. The icons should be black, like the icons on the Toolbars. There is no contrast issue on the toolbars.
Reported bug as:
(VB-93207) Insufficient Contrast for Coloured Icons in Settings
-
@Pesala Yes, of course, but than you don’t have the nice design. It’s a fact that we would have the best Vivaldi design, if there were just a few Vivaldi made themes, without theme editor and all the added complexity. Additionally maybe a very complex way for users to create themes with a couple dozen values to set. The freedom and simplicity we have by setting 4 colors does have its drawbacks. Let the designers have some fun. You can either fix this with CSS, change your theme or ignore it.

There are some impostors among us...
You can even place the address bar here!
-
I like the new icons in Settings, but I would prefer to have a choice in which color they are rendered. I use a sligthly modified Subtle theme that I find relaxing.
-
@atlemo: I have a dream where you apply also default nice icons to the context menus ...
-
Fix list "long as a bad year" - just like I said
And I think there's one of mine in there as wellA couple things I immediately changed in CSS:
/* Dim empty UrlField text colour */ .UrlField--IsEmpty { color: var(--colorFgFadedMost); } /* Use Highlight colour for settings selected */ .vivaldi-settings .settings-sidebar .button-category.category-selected { background-color: var(--colorHighlightBgFaded); }
For one thing the text colour for "search or enter..." is too bright now. And the selected button in settings should use the faded theme Highlight colour, not a version of the Foreground (text) colour.
[Bookmarks] Descriptions are lost when exported in HTML (VB-17786)
Now that's an old one
[Windows] Dragging a link from the browser prompts with a security alert when you open it on W10 (VB-79801)
Nice one - never did get the bottom of whatever caused that when investigating it. Will be interesting to see if these file flags are no longer set.
[Search][Settings] Change POST configuration (VB-89665)
I like these changes, more explanations always help. Might be an idea to explain the difference between
%s
and%S
too (URL encoding). -
[Panels]
The Panels submenu is missing.
There you can check to Disable/Enable Panels, like a hide way but keeping its configuration.Restoring the Default menu didn't bring it back.
The All Panels option just open/close them.Is this a Bug?
I use this for a multiple base profile setup and I enable the needed ones on specific profiles, the rest are hidden but able if needed.
Thx

@Zalex108 The panel bar has been made into a customizable toolbar, like the address and status bars, so you now use the toolbar customization popup to configure it.
Always love more customizability being added in.
-
@nomadic
But that option allowed to have many Panels but without the needing to enable them all.Now they are enabled or removed.
Even on the Toolbar customization can't see anything related.Missing something?
-
@ugly Same here on debian 11 - on xfce desktop

Bug: bookmark separators show as blank, no line visible.
The Panels submenu is missing.
There you can check to Disable/Enable Panels, like a hide way but keeping its configuration.I was looking after that too (wanted to hide the new vivaldi panels) but couldn't find it anymore.
The "Block Hyperlink Audit Tracking" setting/checkbox in "Privacy and Security" settings page has weirdly 3 selectable states. And this is also happening in the last stable too!
-
Stable: 1 checked state & 2 not checked states (one these quickly flash the checkbox as checked but turns to not checked)
-
Snapshot: 2 checked states & 1 not checked state.
I have no idea why these have 3 states, and why stable and snapshots have different states shown. Very weird bug.

Please report any regressions from Stable to the tracker, there's little chance they will pick it up from reading this topic alone, already 3 pages long.

Yes. Do you have uBlock Origin installed? Very very weird bug indeed!
(VB-92320) Clicking the "Hyperlink Audit Tracking" option behaves strangely with uBO extension installed

@gcullinan: I also feel the lag too with the recent releases (at least two o three before). Sometimes the browser feels like it frozen for a second or two.
I also see if you middle click to a bookmark bar item to open a website you can see how the mouse acts, it selects another item after a second becasue it still loading the tab.
Is weird...EDIT: I just found the culprit; it was a Calculator extension! I removed it and now it works as it should.
-
@Cjcr I think I have tracked the culprit down to a Calendar that I have on Icloud. After Starting a new profile all went well till I introduced the offender, then the delays started to occur. I deleted the offending calender & all returned to normal. Hope this helps you.
