How to Close the YouTube Banner Permanently
-
Is This a Wind Up?
I can close this banner by clicking the close button, but every time I go to the YouTube home page, it reappears.
How can I remove it permanently?
-
@Pesala I don’t see a featured youtube banner on its homepage. You might have to adjust your adblocker list, or create a custom list with an entry targeting the banner. Inspect it to check whether it has some id or class you can target.

-
@Pesala No, not even with adblocker disabled. They target regions with different annoyances, we don’t use the same youtube.
-
@luetage It doesn't seem to be a regional thing.
Probably we just need an ad-blocker update.
-
@Pesala It’s all third party lists and they should update depending on author set frequency automatically.
-
I prefer using Ublock Origin and never got these ads.
So, an ad-blocker update would do the job either, I suppose. -
I use uBO and I don't view ANY ad or banner.
Please give the link to view in the logger in uBO which list do the job.

I don't Iker

I don't see any ad or banner in YT, I use only the Vivaldi blocker, JShelter extension and DNScrypt in the OS, nothing else.
-
@Catweazle
Clearly it is not uBo or Vivaldi blocker, it is some list. -
In Chrome without uBO I see this banner in Homepage:
With this code disappears:
[class *= "banner"], [class *= "promo"] {display: none !important;}
Two possibilities:
1.- Use Stylus
2.- As @luetage suggest create a custom list for built-in blocker with this code translated to uBO or ABP language.
-
I managed to get it to appear in Vivaldi without lists.
The code is :
