May I ask how you found Vivaldi? -
@ingolftopf
Hello !
I tried Vivaldi 2 years ago but, Firefox lover since 2004, i wasn't ready to change cause FF is quite easy to mod.
On a french forum, some of the FF community moved to Vivaldi so i re-tried it.
And i have to say i don't regret it. -
@wdefoe Thank you for your kind reply.

I'm afraid you found the trigger-word

@rdesanti2022 Say! Can I customize my profile? Instead of the default ????
-
@rdesanti2022 You can add other profiles with different names. You can customize everything about your browser and main profile, but you cannot substitute or rename the "Default" folder.

This is more in the manner of feedback than a query. No doubt there is a proper place for feedback, but I couldn't find that, and that inability is germane to my comment. I find Vivaldi, vis a vis Chrome/Firefox, analogous to Linux, vis a vis Windows, i.e. Windows is horrible, but Linux is Geekland - almost unusable. e.g. I have a dual boot on this machine, but have been forced to return to Windows while here in Siberia, as Linux won't readily connect to my ISP here, and I wouldn't know where to begin fixing that. When I downloaded Vivaldi, what came up was a heap of suggestions about features, an offer of ten emails (an instinctive, visceral rejection of that), but no basic, obvious stuff about orientation. and I still haven't been able to find out how to turn off - i.e. turn off, permanently, not delete from time to time - history and bookmarks; non-negotiable. If I have to have these basis, odious features of the majors, why wouldn't I just go back to them? Also, couldn't see how to set default-zoom to my preference. That's just a start. One positive though - no default search suggestions; and so far, I think, no uninvited "translate this page," although I suppose that's more a feature of the Sir Chenjens. Anyway, I'll give it a go for a while, and hope I can iron out the bumps.

I'm sure I don't understand what you mean, here.
I still haven't been able to find out how to turn off - i.e. turn off, permanently, not delete from time to time - history and bookmarks
You can merely delete all the bookmarks and then hide the bookmark icon. You can set history to store only today, or you can browse in a private window.
There are two default zoom settings - one for the UI (under "appearance,") and one for web pages (under "webpages.") They are in the settings panel. If you set them they will be respected.
Folks here are generally helpful and happy to answer questions. No, there is no general "feedback" category in the Forums. There are numerous categories where you can ask questions and get them answered, though.
