...and it's implemented, expect it on a future snapshot.

It works really well, but any possibility of making it selective on certain pages?
I use Duolingo and it stops the audio from being played, but that's one page I'd like autoplay to still function normally so I can hear the lessons.
-
@cynical13 Set the Site settings for that site from the padlock icon.
-
@Pesala I should have known that. Thank you!

I'm just thrilled that the developer's of this browser finally were able to add this feature, I know I submitted a request for this feature quite awhile ago, but as I've mentioned I know that the individuals behind this browser doesn't have a huge amount of employee's so sometimes requested features take time to get evaluated & if they get approved it takes additional time to get implemented.
-
I thought this was DONE already. Is something not yet complete.
-
Option is not back yet in 5.3.2679.51

To make this option perfect, it would have global as well as site-specific settings. So you could generally block videos but allow them on your favorite pages.
This is how it's implemented now.

@pettern I'm unable to auto block video play on Vivaldi, how to do?
-
@oci87 Settings, Privacy and Security, Default Permissions.
However, this feature is IN PROGRESS, i.e. it is available in the latest Snapshot 5.4 builds, but not in the Stable 5.3 builds.
Just wait a few weeks for 5.4 Stable to be released.
Install the Snapshot as a Standalone Version so that it does not interfere with your settings for the Stable release.

@Pesala thanks, this is very important feature. I will wait in the stable. Thanks.

@stilgarwolf better not, I tried an extension like this or this and is giving issue with YouTube Music that I use
-
Many of such Stop Autoplay extensions create issues with playing video on soem sites. I remember many user running in such trap and they often reported this as a Vivaldi bug 'not playing the video', but was caused by the extension.
-
Is this feature currently enabled on the dev stream? It was pulled back from the latest stable, wasn't it?
-
@oci87 I tried several of them before selecting AutoplayStopper and I'm using it for years with no issues. As Vivaldi's "Autoplay block" option is not working yet this is the best option I found.
-
@stilgarwolf thanks, I installed seems working

@Nekomajin on Vivaldi 5.4.2753.15 the settings to stop autoplay is integrated in the browser so not need and extension. Just need to wait this will made available also in the default stable

Hi Everyone,
What I'm wondering is will the block auto play option ever be available in the android version? As we all know the mobile version doesn't support any extensions, and being honest probably never will. When I'm utilizing the windows desktop version I still have to utilize an extension to prevent some sites from playing videos automatically. -
@Davy49 I think it might come in the future, Vivaldi for Android 5.4 is in testing.
