All extensions not showing in bar

In the case of Missing Session Buddy, you can access it, even though it is hidden, by going to Tools tab, extensions, session buddy details, extension options....This also opens the extension in a tab...
For now I'm coping... Can't wait till this gets a fix ... Thank you to anyone who is working on it ... OMG I have loads of sessions. -
@LordOfTheNet That's anyones guess. But usually 2 or 3 consecutive stability updates are performed for snapshot before the new stable is being released, therefore the release cannot be imminent.
-
@roddyread Thank you for the heads up on how to access through the details page! Regarding the hiding icon, it may only be temporary, but when I enabled "Show tab count of current session on extension icon" in the Session Buddy settings, it fixed the problem.

@LordOfTheNet The session manager in Vivaldi is certainly a good start, and I do use it for certain things, but it's definitely not a replacement for something like session buddy. For instance, session buddy automatically saves your sessions, so if you accidentally close your browser or it crashes, you can go back and retrieve your last session. Vivaldi session manager also doesn't allow you to edit saved session names or tabs, etc. Very excited to see where they go with this, but power users still need something more powerful.

@s_ta_s said in All extensions not showing in bar:
I have the same problem with Session Buddy. Reinstalling the extension does not help. After turning on / off the icon flashes for a second and disappears. On Vivaldi 2.3.1440.61 there is no such problem, on Vivaldi.2.4.1488.36 and later versions, the problem exists even on a clean profile.
I have the exact same problem, on my Cinnamon Linux 19.1 as well as Windows 10 at work.
Both uses different Vivaldi profiles, and both started dispalying the same behaviour when I updated vivaldi some weeks ago.So it obviously can be neither OS nor configuration related (still tested a clean portable installation on Windows 10 without any effect, bug remains).
As I also need session buddy a lot, this makes vivaldi almost unusable to me
For the time being I'll sadly have to go back to version 2.3.1 in the hops that this'll do the trick. -
I have faced the same problem with firefox. I got resolved with the browser upgrade. So it isn't a surprise to find a similar issue with Vivaldi browser too.
-
I have a similar issue here, but only on a extension called "GitZip". AdBlock and Google translate are working fine. Disable/Enable or reinstall the extension does not work either. Any comment on this?
FYI, the extension works well on Chrome. -
I just realized that GitZip will automatically shows itself at the right side of the address bar, only when I'm under Github domain. So this is not an issue

I found one work around, Not sure if this is going to work for all versions or for All Extensions.
Go to View on the menu bar.
Click on Customize Toolbar
Click on Reset Navigation Toolbar to Default.
Then close vivaldi and open it again to see if its working. The Toggle extension button should appear on the far right corner. If you dont see the extensions. Then read Part 2.
Part 2 : The Second Work Around.
Click on Tools in the Menu Bar.
Click on Settings.
In the Settings page, on the Search bar. Type Extensions.
Under Address Bar heading. Look at the following options.
Extension Visibility. Click on the Toggle all Extensions button.
Then close the Settings page.
Close Vivaldi and open again.
You Should be able to see the Extensions Toggle button now.---- Note this methods might work on 5.3.2679.51 (Stable channel) (32-bit) with Windows 10 Version 21H2 (Build 19044.1706) OS. -----

Actually. I hope that VIVALDI team simply remove that Crummy Toggle button. If users wanted extensions, let them USE IT !!! PERIOD !
I am a user who uses the Extensions VERY often. and IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR MY WORK and productivity. But I have to ALWAYS click on the toggle button just to show all the extensions EVERYTIME I load Vivaldi.
Why not JUST display Vivaldi the Way I want EVERY TIME I OPEN IT ? If there are 6 extensions ? THEN ALLOW ALL THE EXTENSIONS TO RUN. If we want to close them, then the USERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO it on thier own.

@lavaboyz Only hidden extension will be behind the toggle. Show all extensions, then the toggle will be gone. To show an extension righ‐click and click »show button.«

@lavaboyz dear lord you have saved the day! your first workaround fixed it basically, butn then the second workaround restored my extensions back into the bar (where they should be). thank you SO much! orz
