@TbGbe Heehee, i pretty much figured you'd enjoy the bait i offered you. I for one simply choose to ignore that he never actually said those exact words [sans-others in-between]. Sometimes the Myth is better than the Truf!

On The Metaphysics Of Arch Linux - Is Ezarcher Arch Linux?
I agree with him, but also agree that Arch "purists" will always disagree.
Btw; for anyone who chooses to watch this, you'll probably want to increase the playback speed to at least 1.5X. I enjoy laconic, but don't have time for semi-catatonic.

Errr... Yes he did - prefixed with "Made it Ma," but no others-in-between.
-
@guigirl 1.5x speed is a very good advice actually
Now, I've only watched a little to the point he was talking about the script, and... frankly I'm not that interested to watch the rest, to me things are simple, currently there are two official ways to install Arch and get support for it, the diy way following the official guide and the official script, anything else is not Arch as it is not official. Hope I covered the rest of the video

@TbGbe Ahhhhhh, until i followed your link i was puzzled by your reply in the negative. Having now watched that snippet, i realise we were at cross purposes. My "trigger bait" was intended to be
you doity rat
which from our older repartee i knew you'd pick up on as a Cagneyism. When you posted your reply i was thrilled, coz i [mis]understood it to be your signal that you'd indeed recognised said Cagneyism... not coz he used that phrase in that movie, but simply coz it was him. Hence, my subsequent post referred to my original "trigger bait", not to your reply, & was simply my tacit acknowledgement that i do know the cultural fallacy of those literal three words, whereas ofc we know he never did say them, apart from with some other words in between.
Having now had to explain it, i quite regret the whole thing & wish i'd just said nothing... albeit that usually seems impossible for moi.

No, that isn't his point or objective. He's simply engaging in the eternal debate of whether anyone who installs Arch
!=TAW
is entitled to claim they are using Arch, vs an Arch-based distro [not not NOT things like MJ, EOS, Arco, ArchLabs etc all of which are ABDs, but explicitly methods like his way, ArchGUI, or Archfi, each of which latter three are based exactly on TAW but simply with some semi-automation]. -
@guigirl ok so the answer is the same, as they are not official you're not installing Arch the official way, so support in the official forums is theoretically not granted.
-
@npro I rest my case.

Correct, I did!
my original "trigger bait"
Oops - my mistake, not yours

Some time ago in this
Highly Esteemed Thread
, we chatted a little about LXQt. I created an Arch LXQt VM back then to appraise the newest shiniest v1.1.0, & quite liked it.Also earlier in this HET there was some deranged chat about Fedora Branched, with some lunatic converting one of her existing F36 VMs to Branched, which ipso facto is now at F37.
Ever since those chats, said loony has been interested to evaluate how Fedora might deploy their LXQt [i mean natively; i'm not interested enough to manually do it myself from first principles]. Each few weeks i check to see if it [1.1.0] exists anywhere within the Fediverse. Alas, still to this moment... nada:
That's simply pathetic. Don't they want my money? I'm all cashed-up & ready to pay up to 700% on the retail price.

I mean, with packages called
fakeroot
andpartclone
, & users likenobody
, one really begins to wonder what kind of half-arsed amateur-hour shonky fly-by-night ne'er-do-well deal this whole so-called Nix caper is! -

@guigirl 0.17.1 same as new Lubuntu
Well at least if you use F's famous 1st citizen spins you get security updates officially and relatively fast, unlike Ubuntu where it's up to the community.
Here's an idea, why don't they use Snaps and Flatpaks for the DE as well, I believe in them (Canonical & Red Hat).

I mean, the worst thing that can happen is the OS to be performing slightly better than the VMs in distrotest, so what? Safety first.

@guigirl Look, I keep track on those, ok? I'm waiting for tomorrow

Oooh, but i have it on good authority that...
