@jplanvers CS based extensions don't work on other extensions either and that's a deal breaker for me, that's why I'm using hacks to inject gestures into browser chrome
on V I use as a supplementary browser for work related stuff I use extension to handle rockers and that's acceptable but not perfect -

To my shock, i've just tried multiple YT vids in my Default profile, & there was a 100% failure rate of the new V a/p blocker, ie, every single tab began autoplaying when it became active.
Well, tbh this new discovery now was unexpected. After doing that YT test yesterday, i forgot that i still had all those several YT tabs open when i closed V. Now today, for completely unrelated reasons i launched V, & "rediscovered" all those tabs. To my amazement, now there is a 100% success rate -- not one of these YT tabs autoplayed, yaaaaaay. Furthermore, opening another, different, YT tab similarly was successful, ie, its a/p was also correctly blocked. This remained true also after multiple reloads of each tab.
The only difference since yesterday, is that in the meantime Snappie had been closed. It just never occurred to me yesterday that maybe after i enabled this new setting, V might need to be closed/reopened, before it would correctly "kick in".

[Chromium] Upgraded to 102.0.5005.55
For the creators of the mods on CSS, this update is noteworthy in that a new pseudo-class :has() appeared in test mode, which allows you to choose a parent by descendants, for example: a:has (> img).

https://caniuse.com/css-has
I have not checked yet. But, if so, then CSS filtering capabilities of selectors expand significantly.Checked, in the current version of VIVALDI, the pseudo-class: has () works if the --enable-experimental-web-platform-features option is enabled.

I noticed a new element on the address bar - Toggle extension
It's not possible to remove it without removing my uBOI noticed the exact same thing... This unnecessary extensions button popped up quite early in the development of Vivaldi's extensions compatibility but was removed after a while. I suppose something in the latest Chrome or a UI change in this build made it reappear.

Found a new bug:
Reloading (F5) the Start Page triggers the whole SP page shift to the left side and refresh indicator appears at the top-right:
I lost a couple of thumbnails during the test

@guigirl: I still want to install a dual-boot partition (via BootCamp) on my Mac... But I can't help but note: The non-Mac 'nixers seem to spend a lot of their time making things work, whereas the "it just works!" motto is a fixture of modern lore!
Did y'all see the sillyness I'm prone to, when I use multiple systems?

@sjudenim: Do you have any custom CSS enabled? I'm unable to reproduce this.

@jane-n Tbh, i'm a bit surprised to hear of any possibility that the more experienced Vivaldifarians here would not already do that... it's a great feature that i adopted as soon as the devs gave it to us, & just assumed that most peeps would too.
What's much less great though, is the silly/ugly jigsaw puzzle icon the dropdown became some/several Snappies ago... which can't be eliminated "your" way coz i deliberately hide most of my extensions but need a few permanently visible. The old tiny down-arrow/triangle icon was far subtler [ie, better].
-
@guigirl
It was changed when the Toolbar Editor was introduced. A small arrow doesn't really represent Extensions as well as the more widely known puzzle piece does.If you haven't already, maybe you should add your vote to the Custom Buttons feature request.

@Stardust and @mossman You can go to Settings > Address Bar > Extension Visibility and enable both "Toggle Only Hidden Extensions" and "Expand Hidden Extensions to a Drop-Down Menu". Then, as long as you don't have any hidden extensions, you won't see the Extensions button.
Maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand the logic: make the toggle go away by selecting toggle for non-existent hidden extensions then selecting to expand non-existent hidden extensions ... ?
To me the current options are confusing and counter-intuitive if you only use a couple of visible extensions. Why not just give options such as: 1) visible extensions toggle on/off 2) hidden extensions shown using toggle / dropdown menu ?

@altcode: Indeed, there does seem to be a problem here. I suspect some mistake on my part going to far back when generating this. Anyway, I have removed all dupes now and it is vastly cut down in size.
Still not a bad list though…

The settings are a bit confusing, but it worked!
BTW vertical dropdown looks interesting. Now I am curious to see how it would look like when you have >42 Extensions installed
