@Pathduck Is moving note/bookmarks and tabs (detached mode) still under active development? The same happens in a clean profile with the buttons at 200+ tabs, with no in-development experiments activated. Want me to check Stable too? I definitely could.

I guess I cannot ask anyone to fix nor optimize anything, even if it's been developed long ago (as is the case with moving notes/bookmarks).

I've got plenty of stuff on the in-development stuff too, much of it already discussed and even reported, but I'll never get to doing my work if I let myself get started on that. Besides, I'm sure that one user the whole operation has to rely on will eventually find, get the time to find the exact consistent repro steps (

) and report the bug I and others didn't have time for, else it'll stay there for months, chances are it'll do that even if reported.

I could use Stable, but then I'd have to wait the extra month for that specific quickly-fixed bug which skipped the minor versions to disappear with a major release and that's... so much more stable and ready for use, I guess...

Best I can do is appreciate Vivaldi and associates are at least trying to provide the browser I could recommend, and try to help by pointing out where improvements are needed. I apologize for not saying "hey I noticed the browser is doing this in version xxx. xxx and without this experiment" because it would have been considered more complete and respectful despite being functionally the same.

@christiehmalry In the toolbar editor, select Command Chains (it's the menu's last item) & then hold crtl (or cmd on Mac) and drag a command chain icon to a toolbar.

@Pathduck Ultimately it's all just words thrown on a wall, but please be careful not to assume that just because I'm using a Snapshot the issue also only occurs in Snapshots, and only with the newest, most unstable, "the in-development" configuration, and only in broken and bloated profiles.

Or if bugs reaching Stable are meant to stay and make the use of certain features difficult at best, just because it's "still in development", one only has to say and I'll stop reporting at once, I'll consider it a mere feature of the user experience.

Default search is locked to Bing. I don't even have it as a search option. I have to use prefixes to avoid it

@hlehyaric: im a real idiot here mate, where is the toolbar editor, im not seeing anything in settings ive just been dragging everything around, the only change after clicking editable toolbars i could find was the operative button changed from shift to ctrl

@pathduck: Would've been happy to do that if there was an easy way to import/export everything (like there was in Opera 12). For now I'd try just unchecking Settings from sync.

Still, thanks for the suggestion - at least it confirms my suspicion.

Edit: one day later with 'Settings' unchecked from the Sync settings in the snapshot and things seem okay.
