Solved Switching tabs cause Google Meet camera to stop working

Whenever I record a Google Meet (using a third-party extension), I have to stay on the tab for the screen to work properly. Otherwise, when I switch tabs during the recording, the cameras in the Google Meet turn grey as shown in the image below. Names and meeting ID have been blocked for obvious reasons.
Note that their cameras are not off, but they stop showing in the recording once I switch tabs. Anyway, although this could be a problem with Google Meet itself, I believe the problem could also be within the browser as this does not happen on Microsoft Edge. Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

@luetage Thank you so much! I was able to install it as a PWA and the problem whenever I switch tabs is resolved now. Thanks

@4lyss4 Run Meet in its own window perhaps as a counter measure? Maybe it’s even possible to install it as PWA. I’m not saying this isn’t a bug, but workarounds should help in the meantime.

@luetage I've tried running Meet in its own window and it didn't work unfortunately. How do I install it as a PWA?

@4lyss4 Right‐click the tab and in the menu there should be entries for installation or creating a shortcut.

I am not familiar with google meet etc as i don't use such things but just wondering if the "play image animation" toggle switch which is located on the statusbar has/could have any effect on this in regard to cameras etc.

Should you have changed your menus in the past, it could be possible you have removed it by accident. To make sure check whether you see the shortcut/installation entries here on Vivaldi Forum. If they don’t show up in the test, visit vivaldi://settings/appearance/, under »menu customization« select »tab« and on the right hand side search for »progressive web apps«. Then drag&drop it over to »tab«.
