@tbgbe No i dunno, that's the whole point -- we need you & your insatiable curiosity to sally forth & discover! You're our last chance, Obiwan Kenobi.

In that case, I'll have the power.
I may find out but then I'll deny you all that knowledge!! -
@tbgbe Right, in that case...
Release the Ewoks!

@guigirl This is not the Ape you are looking for.
-
@tbgbe Typo... lemme fix it for you, fully gratis too!
This is not the Apt you are looking for.

Just showed Mint the door to replace it with Manjaro Cinnamon. Does that make me an Archer? Gotta say, the DE is quite familiar, but the operation is faster and smoother. Also, it offered me the choice between libre office and softmaker office. No question. Softmaker every time.

As an American you can use it to see how long the tea should stay in the harbour.I really like KTeaTime; it's a great custom timer
Not needed with Vivaldi ofc, but otoh, comes in handy for those times V isn't running [eg, updates, backups, or spending some quality Nightly time].
-
@ayespy Hey welcome! Do tell, what lead to your departure from Mint [& hence buntuland]?
No, to be pedantic [who, moi?
] you're not an Archer per se, but you're definitely now an Archier, which is still marvellous, teehee.
Like all of their spins, IMO MJ C is quite beautifully themed, albeit i guess for those allergic to greens it might be a touch tiresome.
Hope you keep enjoying it.

@guigirl I read good things about Manjaro, and Cinnamon includes Vivaldi as its default browser, so I thought I'd try it.
Already, it boots and runs faster than Mint.
Teal is kind of a trademark of mine - but obviously I'm not restricted to the first look they offer me.
I see already, though, that I am going to have to learn things about installing 3rd party software - like Vivaldi Snapshot. I can't just download and run the .deb like I could in Mint.
-
Genuinely unsure whether to laugh or cry.
Archer seeks to proclaim he's not one of those arrogant paternalistic Arch btw wankers, but [IMO] massively undermines his entire case pretty bloody badly
One paragraph too many...

@ayespy If only there were some peeps around in the forum who might help...

@npro Oh, yes, nice find. I love it.

I offer this Linux Community critique without making any personal comments, yet ... what do you all think?
-
@guigirl I think that youtube has a lot of clowns.

Hah, welcome to the gang

Is that your first distro-hop to a rolling release model? There are some fundamental differences between fixed/semi-rolling/rolling distributions, and speed/smoothness is only a factor out of many, I hope you are prepared for that fact (i.e. more involvement is required)

@npro I do wonder sometimes if The Wayback Machine / Internet Archive can keep up with your hectic editing pace...
