      Why Open the Web?

Despite the connecting purpose of the Web, it is not entirely open to all of its users.
When used correctly, HTML documents can be displayed across platforms and devices.
However, many devices are excluded access to Web content.

The translation from English to Bulgarian doesn't work well. It works only once when shange the languages to Bulgarian. After that it doesn't translate at all:

In the changelog, I noticed something related to tab width, but unfortunately, you still didn't add the minimum tab width when the tab bar is overflowing with tabs. All we can see are tab icons, like all Chromium browsers (not good at all). I like how Firefox does it where there's a limit to the minimum tab width when there are too many tabs (unselected tabs), and we can still read the text to see what tab it is. Vivaldi should definitely have that and I saw forum posts about it here.

Nonetheless, you should stop with new features and start fixing 7 year old stability bugs, as I have been suggesting for the past 6 years :).

Also, what's going on with Vivaldi where it's laggy to scroll now? It was never that smooth but scrolling on all pages now is laggy. I forgot if it was like that though I do recall it laggy. I've been using other stable browsers (Edge, Firefox) and I just received a Vivaldi message in my taskbar, telling me there's an update. I checked Services and didn't find anything, nor in Task Manager, so I went in Vivaldi and disabled the Notify about updates. Strange since Vivaldi was not being used and this shouldn't have happened.

I don't think this browser will ever be stable. I see the changelogs full of new features and then full of fixes for those new features, and ignoring browser stability and so on. I understand bug fixes for new features, no worries there.

I quit using it after submitting 30+ reports in the past ~7 years and crashes and weird bugs kept happening, even up to this day in a new Vivaldi installation in a new Windows SSD, where I would use it and I couldn't exit it (had to use task manage to force close) after a few minutes of usage, where tabs in multiple Windows started getting mixed up on their own after 1 hour of usage only, and they would then disappear. I recall similar issues ~7 years ago on a different computer.

It's disappointing that such a great browser, full of features, is so buggy in the most basic of features, browser stability and reliability. I always update it and come back hoping that it would become a stable browser but it seems that that's at the bottom of your list of priorities. A change of management or priorities is in order, don't you think?

          Laptop: Asus G18.
Mobile Phone: Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra (Android 13).

One thing I don't like at all in the blog post, adding a new search engine, Neeva.
When I enter the corresponding page I see that it is not yet functional and only offers the possibility of signing up with the email and name, to be informed when it is ready in my country.
Ok, it is an acceptable thing, why because of what it says that it respects privacy and is the first that does not use ads, apart from not specifying much else.
Well, I think there is nothing against signing up.
After doing so, I am congratulated for being on the waiting list and that I am informed by email of its launch and that I CAN USE IT FOR THE FIRST MONTHS FREE OF CHARGE.
I have nothing against paid products, but these, if they are trustworthy, are put into the price list and not after signing up in good faith, apart from that it would be the last straw that on top of being paid they had ads.
I consider this a not very serious practice and with this of course I have no confidence in this search engine and its supposed privacy, which anyway isn't very strong.

@catweazle , thank you for sharing your thoughts on Neeva.
It's important for us to get a good understanding of how ours feel about partners we work with.

To make sure I get your point fully, can you elaborate a bit more what you meant by the following sentence? Neeva can be used for free for few months before you decide to pay for subscription and there is no ads shown on the search result.

If you want my feelings: Include almost any search-engine that's willing to pay the fee. It's not like you're forcing me to use them, I can use whatever search-engine I want.

Edit: That said, Neeva is a very questionable choice. Because it won't just show you the search-results, you have to jump through hoops (signing up). That does lower the quality of the Vivaldi search-box. I think Neeva would be more appropriate as a sponsored bookmark.

Edit 2: Neeva (as of June 2022) no longer requires you to jump through those hoops, it's no longer a questionable choice.

You mean the "Expert Recommended" section? If the Neeva help files are to be believed, those are not ads.

@tatsuki , naturally I can use it for 3 months for free, before deciding, but first this of "private search engine" has nothing, since it clearly states that it register my data and my activity using this search engine, as seen in the quote that I put that I got from Neeva's PP .
Besides, it is a very bad practice to notify the user of the monthly costs only after registering and not on the presentation page, where in each serious service a link always appears above, where it says 'Pricing', which in Neeva is not the case, nor apears in other site in this page..
Trust, none and of course I am not going to use it, not even the first three months.
Because calling itself a private search engine is already a hoax, with it's PP i can use directly Google, which is free and not only the first three month.

It does notify the user on the presentation page:

@eggcorn My name is Sridhar and I am a co-founder of Neeva.

We are very clear that we are a paid product. It is core to our business model of having one party to serve: our customer.

We make it clear on the home page, and on our settings and faq.

If you think we can make more changes to make this more clear, please do tell us and we are happy to consider it. We have an experiment to change the button text "Try It Free" to make the paid nature (but you don't need to enter a credit card to try the product) clear.

Vivaldi is the most unstable part of a system.
Mobile = no tab search, no notes markdown support. Accordions used not to be broken
Vivaldi can ultra super manage your tabs, sessions and notes, just not all the time.

It seems you are casting quite a large net. Can you explain why you would want to know our browsing history before we have arrived at Neeva? Thank you.

We have no access to your browsing history before you visit Neeva! The only thing that seems vaguely even possible is the referrer attribute. I will look into why this phrase "pages that you visit" is even there in the privacy policy and look into removing it.

@sridharneeva I confirmed that this was put in place to cover using the http referrer attribute for being able to tell whether traffic to the neeva.com marketing site came from search or social media. That's it.

@ian-coog Yet, when I broached this very obvious subject last week when I found out that 93 was not going to be skipped in favor of 94, I received a descriptive "Nope" in answer to whether 94 would be.

Yet, it's out in 6 days, which even allowing for Vivaldi's usual 2-week lag is obviously a non-starter, as you suggest.

This all goes to the fact that Chromium has two release schedules now, and Vivaldi hasn't commented on which one they're going to follow. Barring a revolutionary change, the 4-week one is simply not conducive to this product. The 8-week one is all but perfect, however....
