Command chains – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2350.3
-
I finally waited for the update. I know that there will be bugs in the snapshot version, and I accept it very much, but it is really uncomfortable not to sync.
-
@guigirl It’s immensely unlikely a native implementation by Vivaldi would ever satisfy you, since I can almost guarantee you it wouldn’t work the same way as the Firefox extension; just like the existing tree tabs extension you don’t want to use is different.
Anyway, Firefox is not a bad browser, the choice depends on the priorities you set. To me the lack of quick commands and native mouse gestures already seal the deal. Heck, you can’t even change keyboard shortcuts on Firefox, at least I don’t know how to. Moreover it’s another American browser, not European. The modding is better too… I could go on. All a matter of taste.

Vivaldi snapshot crash after start. When I log out from sync, everything is ok. When I login in again, the crash are repeated.

If you have used sync in an earlier snapshot based on Chromium 92 (either on Desktop or Android), it might have created corrupted bookmark or notes entries and you will need to Clear Server Data. Affected users will have sync crash when trying to log out and log in again. -
@ian-coog Thank you

Awesome, this is such a huge step forward! Thanks. Been waiting for this since the beginning. Keyboard shortcuts were always THE main feature for me in Opera. Now just needs a couple of improvements here and there (parameters for actions). Also, didn't check, but can we include an action in another action?
And please fix single key shortcuts like r, f...
-
@toruvinn Single-key shortcuts R = Reply, F = Forward, K = Mark as Read are used by the email client. You can modify them in Settings, Keyboard, Mail.
Parameters are available for actions where they apply, like Page Zoom, or Sleep.
No. One cannot include a Command Chain in another Command Chain. I fear this would lead to many problems. Just
repeat the actionsclone the Command Chain and add some more commands in a new Command Chain.BTW: I updated my review page with some screen shots to illustrate using Command Chains.
-
@toruvinn Can’t include a chain in another chain, but you can clone the original chain and then add to it to spare you some editing. Cloning a chain is possible with right click on the command chain in the collection.
-
@jumpsq: I'm of a completely different opinion, actually. I only added Chains to QC as a fun, trivial thing (it was the first thing I did, because I know the code). But my personal opinion is that Command Chains should not be in Quick Commands, as they're very useless there.
-
@jumpsq: If you use "Open Link in New Tab" instead, you do not need the delay/sleep.
-
@oudstand my browser also closes after few sec but i tried many times and managed to log off fastly i clicked the could icon of sync and then log off two clicks
-
@alacho: Good to know, thanks! Things are definitely headed to an Opera 12 level of customisation!
-
@masterleo29: I think it's been absent for a while, but since I don't use that regularly, I can't say for sure when it went missing.

Affected users will have sync crash when trying to log out and log in again.I figured that the crashing is related to this issue, but not the exact same one, as they say that the affected users will have sync crash, not the browser itself.

@pathduck: What a good idea! Why didn't we think of that!
-
-
Why oh why isn't there a command/commandline to maximize/resize the window? EDIT: commandline seems to work but only if Vivaldi isn't already open...
-
Please add "Restore last closed card" button side by side Trash button.

Cheeky!
Of course I kind of figured you would, just wasn't expecting it so fast!
-
Having just a second to click on 'Sign off' before the browser crashes was an unpleasant surprise. Lucky for me that the sync settings page was still focused.

@duzers Try Ctrl+Z or Ctrl+Shift+T Reopen Closed Tab.
