Keyboard Shortcut to images
-

-
@ssg-agp How will this work when there is more than one image on a page? If you use the mouse then you can give focus to any image that you want to copy or save.
-
@pesala like a shortcut, mouse over the picture and use shortcut then
-
@ssg-agp Access keys and menus can be edited in Settings, Appearance, Menu Customisation, Image and (Image) Link menus.
-
@pesala you're the closest person I've seen so far that might here and understand my concerns. I am disappointed with Vivaldi because it's advertised for power users without but missing key features .
-
mouse gesture for open image in new tab does not exist
(I am not talking about opening link) just open image -
even the work around open image in new tab keyboard command does not exist…
-
what about when you want to edit a search text field and you want to delete a word there's nothing except cut…what if you want to keep what's on your clipboard? you cannot
delete is missing from the context menu
These are power user features that make surfing the net easier quicker.Vivaldi is missing but they seem to like throwing hundreds of things at us that most of us don't even care about. The most complicated browser sure that's okay but why missing such obvious features. The features I'm mentioning are for power surfers isn't that what Vivaldi is all about?
Thank you very much if you've read my words I appreciate it. I like the browser but pale moon truthfully beats it. I'm using it now and the missing features have been added easily to pale moon but I can't for the life of me get them into the Vivaldi
Best regards

@tech444 Everyone has specific pet issues. Don’t make the assumption that your problems matter to many while everything else Vivaldi does matters to few. If you’re really a “power user”, I’m sure you will find a way to work around it until Vivaldi introduces the option.
-
@tech444 You claim to be a power user, but you don't seem to understand why a command to open an image in a new tab cannot work. On any page there may be any number of images. Which image should be opened?
Right-click, Image, Properties should do what you want.
In the search field, the delete key will remove selected text without overwriting the clipboard.
-
@pesala you sound a little bit rude that may not have been your intention.
I'm using pale moon browser as well and a mouse gesture opens any image I stroke with the mouse without opening a link.
why would I ask for something that's impossible? I'm using it in a competition browser as we speak
And you're also wrong again you do not right-click the image and choose properties that will do nothing…to get my job done I added to the context menu open image in new tab so that's how I can do it in Vivaldi. It's just that it would be nice to have it as a gesture on the mouse. Do you understand what I'm saying?
My other concern that when you're editing text in a search box right clicking context menu does not have delete for when you may want to take out a word. I may have search queries stored on my clipboard and the only option Vivaldi gives me is to cut which would wipe out my clipboard.
I thought you might be able to help me but instead you seem to lash out at me and then give me information that is wrong and false
And yes I am a power user. not a code writer I do not make browsers. I just know what features make surfing the net easier faster and more convenient
Respectfully tech 44

@tech444 There is nothing false about the information I gave you.
- A command to open an image cannot work (Topic Title = Keyboard Shortcut to images). A mouse action can as one can use the mouse cursor to focus the desired image
- Right-click, Image Properties does open the image in a new tab
- If the image is a link, Right-click, image submenu, Image Properties opens it in a new tab
- In the search field, the delete key will remove selected text without overwriting the clipboard.
Can you tell me what is false about the information that I gave you?
My idea of a power user is someone who can learn and adapt to slight differences in different software.
-
@pesala you know you're absolutely correct I just tried it. I'm not used to browsers using multiple phrases to do the same thing.
Open image in new tab which is what I am using and
Image properties both do the same thing. To me that doesn't seem normal but you are right it works. I thought if I right clicked image properties I would just get information but apparently it opens the image in a new tab
Forgive me I apologize. Strange having two different phrases do the exact same thing though. Oh well I'm struggling who would've expected that to happen. Now I know
do you have any ideas on how to swipe with your mouse your search criteria in a text box and have the delete on the context menu instead of cut… I like to retain key search criteria and if I use cut it will wipe it out off the context menu. I'm just so use to these things I've had them for so many years when they're missing yikes.
God bless you I will try to figure out this browser somehow I've invested a lot of time customizing it it's pretty nice.
-
@tech444 I see no way to delete the selected text with the mouse or configuring the menu to add an item to do that. The delete key works fine.
Open Image also opens the image in a new tab, but it does not show the image properties panel, just an
icon at top right to show the image properties.

@pesala … okay thank you so much Pesala
I can continue with pale moon for a short time probably and I can just flip to Vivaldi when I get to a proprietary website Pale Mood cannot view…and I Cannot Update Pale Moon As Versions past 28 Will Wipe out My Extensions As the Developer Is Struggling to Make the Browser Fight against Chrome.
That's why I have Vivaldi I was hoping it would Takeover …I do love all the settings.
Even now I'm not typing I rarely use a keyboard. My complete computer is run from my mouse.and dictation program
I use a Logitech 610 which can be programmed with endless profiles it's so cool. Whichever program is on the mouse commands
change to that program. And my mouse has 12 buttons all programmable…So that is part of where I'm coming from for a power user . I've been lucky for so many years to keep everything working…
I will be fine and I appreciate your your time to write to me. Thanks take care God bless
