Right click for context menu is still broken after clicking on an empty trashcan.
In the works for the next snapshot?

As with you, i'm also flummoxed by this alleged new function, coz i simply cannot find it anywhere so far. Afaik it's not a new entry in our customisable link context menus, nor elsewhere in Settings. When in the active tab within a stack, right-clicking a link does not offer me a new option to open said link outside the stack [which i've really wanted for yonks]. So far, this totally baffles me.
I didn't consider that it might not be a setting, but that's certainly possible, allowing someone to countermand the actual setting called "Open Tabs in Current Tab Stack" on-the-fly without bothering to change it.
So, if that exists, fine. But they need to fix the setting itself first, which as of 3.7 forces you to open a new tab within the stack regardless of how it's set. There may or may not be a bug open on that.

The problem with the extensions not rolling up when two of them are used at the same time, is still there. If I'm not careful not to close an extension before opening another, it is necessary to re-start Vivaldi and that happens at least two times per session.
-
Extension shortcuts really seem to have taken a hit. No shortcut with
alt
will work, although we can set them. This is independent of the “alt as menu key” setting. Anyway, I think it would be time to take a look at the extensions shortcuts overall. Being forced to use the global setting is suboptimal. -
I noticed a significant improvement to CPU use when watching YouTube videos.
Formerly, when watching a 1080p video, my CPU power use was Very High and after a while my PC would suddenly reboot. I could avoid it was selecting 720 or 480 video quality.
Now, when watching a 1080p video, my CPU power use seldom gets past Moderate or High and so far my PC has not rebooted while watching such high quality videos to the end.

"[Tabs] Moving tabs in private windows impossible (VB-77154)"
Still does not work here. (Vertical tabs on the left).
Win10x64 Vx64

@luetage But we can be lucky to have a delete-option... (concerning the wiki-panel)

I confirm the existence of this ugly problem. It gets in the way. Please correct in the next snapshots.

Right click still not working (all menus on websites and browser interface)
I have to open new window to start it working, but it works only once (1 right click possible for 1 window opening). WTF? -
@Gregor Most probably something broken on your main profile, test on a guest profile, if it works there, you may want to try to refresh your main profile.

@helsten2: Sadly it is same here. Before the update it was not working but at least showing some sort of “animation” at some point. Nothing happens now - completelly dead. This problem is plaguing vivaldi for way too long now. Tested on Win 10 Pro x64.
-
@ian-coog: I made a refresh of my main profile with this snapshot. The problem still persists.
The formerly not functioning context menu pops up when right clicking in a new window right after right clicking in this new window. That said the context menu has a delay and waits for a right click in a new window. -
It's getting better, and I keep my fingers crossed that it goes in this good direction, but.... it could use some more optimization and improvements. I've been using Vivaldi really well for a long time (apart from the, in my opinion, bad decisions about the forced changes to the speed dial appearance), but I can see that the browser is getting more and more loaded. Version 3.7 alleviated this feeling, but it's still not the best. The best example is the very moment you turn on the browser, where you can see that it's slow, and it would be nice to speed it up.

@Gregor Does this happen after you open a page from bookmarks, and also only occur if you have the Panel open (on the left) and right-click on the left side of the web page? If so I have an open bug for this (VB-74891) but need external confirmation to justify raising the priority. Thanks!
-
@MattSolo45 Yes. I downloaded (and uninstalled) chromium to test FloC and it is SO much faster!
-
@nutcracker Oh! You have this too? It occurred for me after applying a translate (css) to the extension window so I thought it was my fault.
It is not fixed for me either.
And I will now have to restart my browser after testing it. -
In the changelog: "[Speed Dial] Align add button text to center (VB-78240)"
However, on my computer it still seems to be left-justified:

(Hmmm, not sure how to insert an image, so not sure if it will show up. If not, the text on the "add new Speed Dial" button is left-justified.)

- [Settings][Tabs] Create option to open tabs outside stack (VB-78022)
The option can be found in the keyboard settings,in the menu customization settings and in the quick commands.
It opens only the new tabs, not the links.

OK, and it works.
So that's one option. Now they just have to fix "Open Tabs in Current Tab Stack" so that when it's unchecked it also works again (for new tabs), like it used to.
