- A screenshot will help. Like this?
I have the last version of V
- Which means stable or snapshot?
so Do anyone suffer from same problem ?
- In the case of snapshot, could be a corrupted profile due mail experiment. -

- In the case of snapshot, could be a corrupted profile due mail experiment.it just happened again from minutes ago , there will not be a screenshot cause it will be all black screen , you can only see the windows taskbar at the end of the screen , all other is black .
i have last stable version of V -

anyway i can't say it will fix the problem or not cause the problem can happened suddenly , and happened rarely -

Of course it won't or I wouldn't have suggested it.
It's just a test to open a completely clean profile when the user interface to do so is unavailable. If it then works, we know it's something in your profile and not something in your OS.

Not sure if that is the same issue, but I have similar experience. Suddenly all screen became dark gray with V logo in the center. Closing and relaunching helps. It happens like once in a few days or same, so I can't provide much of a details to reproduce. The only thing I can add - it happens for quite the time now, like several months. My V is 4.1.2369.21 (Stable channel) (32-bit), but it definitely happened with previous stable versions (I don't use snapshots).

@andrewornil Can you open a new window from Windows taskbar icon's context menu?
-
@doctorg You mean, new V window, I suppose? I'll keep that in mind, next time that happens
-
i using now
4.1.2369.21 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
from days till now , and this problem not happened to me , but sometimes after opening many videos , the page start appear like waving while scrolling the page that contains many videos like facebook videos etc etc.

Happened today to me with 5.4.2753.51 on Win11 (Nvidia), less than an hour after starting it. I use it all the time, so not a new install or anything like that.
I don't recall this happening before and nothing unusual was happening, not even an unusual site. No recent updates.
All other programs were fine, and I could right-click Vivaldi on the taskbar and get at those functions, but none of them worked.
I rebooted but suppose I could have also ended task on Vivaldi in Task Manager instead.
Vivaldi was not showing as hung or using an unusual amount of memory. It was just black.

@rseiler The UI got completely black? Looks like a NVidia driver crash.
-
confirmed. In my case it usually happen when PC is low on ram.
-
@DoctorG Maybe some kind of internal video driver function to Vivaldi crashed (I'd have looked but for the fact that it was completely black and I couldn't see anything in Vivaldi beyond the window outline), but it couldn't have been broader than that since everything aside from Vivaldi was unaffected.
System RAM was also normal (16GB total, as usual about half free).
