Option to Disable Accent Colors from Active Site
-
@marek-gontarczyk Have you unchecked the option to use the accent color that shows when editing your current theme?
-
@pauloaguia this is a feature request for android, not desktop;)
-
There is my vote too. I'd like to have option of disabling top bar color changes.
-
I'd also like a theme in android that doesn't change the toolbar colour. It's very irritating, especially since it changes the colour of the status bar too, and I've had to use dark mode which I don't enjoy using during the day.
-
Yes, please. The desktop version allows disabling this. Please allow disabling this on mobile, too. The dark theme is too dark and the colour accents are way too colourful.
-
@madonnaragu I believe this is too simple a fix. I’d expect custom themes at some point.
-
I don't like the accent color feature either. The vivid colors are very disturbing, especially when you choose to put the address bar at the bottom.
-
Agreed. The changing tab background colour on every site is really distracting. It would be much better to have a (possibly selectable) plain background which isn't too garish.
-
I also dislike accent colors - the contrast for partially sighted people is just to bad. This, in conjunction with no text wrap, is preventing me from using Vivaldi on Android.
Is there a feature request already? -
Accent colors are a nice touch, but - especially when the adress bar is on the bottom - the amount of color can be a bit overwhelming. It's really a bit of a problem with bright, flashy colors, and some accent colors are just plain ugly. I would really love to be able to visit certain sites without having their colors splashed over my screen.

I'm so disappointed with the latest update where the bottom Tab switcher menu is the same as the theme, it's very vivid and I can't handle using the browser now, it burns my eyes and makes the screen on my phone seem way small.
I would like to see an option to disable this but I fear I am going to have to go to an alternative browser which makes me sad.

@snoopzster
Hi, as workaround you can use dark mode but not enabled dark pages.Cheers, mib

Thanks for the reply, I'm not a fan of dark mode but I have managed to fix my annoyance by selecting 'show tab bar' so for now all the colours are back to normal until they change that too.
So I'm sticking with Vivaldi for now with the hope they add the option of choice. -
Yes, please add an option to disable Accent Colors, this really escalated since the last update. Especially when a red'ish color is used this really hurts the eyes.
-
Yes, please an option without accent colors, as you can see it is extremely distracting!

It appears that now one can no longer uncheck Accent Color from Active Page or change/modify the theme. This is unacceptable. A browser is a tool. It is not supposed to be a means whereby the developers can go and impose their personal tastes (or lack thereof) on the users. Until now, I have been fairly satisfied with Vivaldi. Sure it has a lot of features that are surplusage (with additional rubbish being periodically rolled out), but as long as I can disable them, I don't care (other than when I need to spend my time to disable the new "features" when there is an upgrade). Please correct this situation.

I like a color accent. So it would be nice to add themes as in Firefox.
-
Very old thread and no reaction of developers. Is it too hard for them to make 4 instead of 3 themes (auto — system settings, light, dark and accented)? I just don't understand this, it's so simple.

please give an opportunity to remove these accent colors
the ability to hide the bookmark button, the icon is bad, uninformative
remove the vivaldi logo from the menu icon
all of these icons are inconsistent with each other due to thickness and style. looks ugly
