Two-level Tab Stacks – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2130.3

A nice thing that probably has nothing to do with development, but made me happy — I’ve noticed download size has gone from ~ 100 MB back to ~ 60 MB (noticeable for those using herecura)
-
@luetage: I didn't either. But this implementation that made stacks more useable has been a game changer for me.
Ctrl/shift selecting tabs and then stacking them using a keyboard shortcut has been a huge aid in organization.
-
@mtaki14 Yeah, don’t know. Maybe I’ll try again, but I just save as session or as bookmarks folder and close the lot I don’t immediately need.

I probably found a bug. I have set Tab Stacking/second row, use dotted tabs to visualize the stack.
2 single tabs, drag one into the other to create the stack. the 2nd row is displayed, with the 2 separate tabs, ok.
now drag one out of the stack with the mouse. The dragged out one is now on a single tabs row, the remaining one is now pratically a tab stack of 1 tab, still displayed by itself on the 2nd row.
To fix, redrag the 2 tabs to form a tab stack and use the context menu to Ungroup tab stack.Summary: [Two-level tab stack] Ungrouping a tab stack by dragging leaves last tab in stack still as a 1 tab stack
Key: VB-75184 -
At one point we will need sync of the customized menus, recreating this is a huge endeavor.
-
For some reason I can't find the setting for two-level tab stacks. Appears to be missing completely from my settings list.
-
Note: Two-level Tab Stacks are currently behind an experiment flag but they are ready to test, just enable them in: vivaldi://experiments
-
@Stardust so I'm an idiot. I totally thought I checked there. thanks for the help.

How do you lock? Given the feature is all about a second level, it's unclear how that "avoids changing the page view height when switching between tabs," but I'm sure I'll understand once I figure out where it is.
-
I don't see "tab stacking" sub-settings on my 64-bit version. however, those settings were synced from my other 32-bit version. very strange.
-
@rseiler When you have a two-level tab stack selected, you should see this lock icon on the right side. Clicking that will make sure the two-level doesn't disappear when switching to individual tabs

I'm always surprised by the features the Vivaldi devs implement. I didn't even know I needed this until I just now tried it. It's way better for dealing with tab stacks - it makes them work better as workspaces.
