Menu emoji customization

Reported as
VB-75057
. Take notice of the symmetrical bug number ^^ -
Broken again for me on the new Stable 3.5... Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
-
@guigirl Yeah, I hope Ornorm got some bio‐ink handy.
-
We just have to wait for:
- [MENU] VB-75057 > ALT key break emoji menus
- [MENU] VB-73637 > Menu keyboard navigation breaks after inserting emoji
- [MENU] VB-73638 > Emoji insertion is buggy in Vivaldi Button Menu
Oh, and they're 3.5 regression too
-
-
@luetage Yeah, they come from my bugs note, but the first one is considerable its
umbrella bug
.
As we can't never be always sure I've also add apresumed fixed
section in it. Still hope of see some partial BT somewhere one day. Would be an excellent reason to get anambassador
label -
@Hadden89 Ambassadors have no access to the tracker. Afaik they only get monthly Vivaldi mails telling them to advertise Vivaldi around the web, which you might as well do without the ambassador role, I don’t think it has any practical purpose.
-
@luetage Yeah, I know that. I still advertise Vivaldi without the need of additional newsletters

Winter is over...
(I didn't follow this thread closely because I didn't face any issue with those emojis in the previous versions and I thought I wasn't concerned by thatAlt
issue - weird feeling of something magic happening just for me ) -
@Ornorm It used to work in stable, even with alt key trigger enabled? Would indicate it’s indeed a regression.
-
@Ornorm I fear that was fine in 3.4 but broke in almost any 3.5 release (snapshot and thus stable) especially as using the ALT key on windows for menus is pretty much a standard
-
@luetage Yes it did for me. That's the reason why I didn't really follow this discussion...
-
@guigirl Yeah, the first time he mentioned it I refused to believe it, but then he had to go and say it again. It’s beyond negligence, it’s meant to hurt.
-
@guigirl As we say in French: Jamais deux sans trois*.…
*Never two without three.
-
@guigirl @luetage You know, it all started in a previous thread that I referenced in this one.
@Ornorm said in Menu emoji customization:@Steffie Oh my gosh! I know understand all those ping-pong conversations that I didn't understand.
When I asked the question I was describing what I did in the Stable version.@Ornorm said in How to customize menus in Vivaldi browser:
@Steffie Just to make sure (don't know how you did populate the field).
Icon+Space+&Name
🔖 &Bookmarks
Did you proceed the same way?Due to all the blurry, peculiar, outlandish, etc. interventions, comments, OTs, I decided...
... to take distance with this thread...
... I thought it would be better for me not to follow it too much...
... I guess it's the reason why I didn't really read it.

We are able to customize webpage menus now. Added a few new emoji to OP.

@Ornorm Very good effort. That’s exactly the reason why Vivaldi introduced menu customization in the first place, to give us users the chance to make sense of the mess and arrange everything logically.

I am not able to see the menu entry for “New Separator” in the Bookmarks panel, on the Bookmarks page and in the Notes panel. The only place I am provided with the option is the Notes page. “New Separator” menu entries are set for both Notes‐ and Bookmark List. Can somebody confirm this?
