GMail access for Mail Technical Preview users – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2115.71

Thanks!
I have tried this before but for some reason I can now access gmail from the technical preview. Yay!
At least POP3 - haven't tried IMAP. -
@Ruarí The app password doesn't work for logging onto Google Calendar.

a) Where to move to?
Anywhere, just away. https://nomoregoogle.com/ lists quite a lot of replacements.
b) How do I easily identify the full list of online services currently assigned to my GMail so I can work to transfer them over?
Does it have Google in its name? Does its name start with G (though this doesn’t always mean it’s that one)? Does it have Gargle’s favourite colours in logo (again, may not be that one)? Does it (ask you if it can) be ‘more helpful & personalised’? Does it sync with another Gargle thing? Or… who would ever have guessed… is it listed as a Gargle thing in the above linked site? -

That's not quite what I meant. I mean that the major difficulty I have in moving away from Google, is that I have used the email address to register accounts on many websites in the past, and I'm worried I may forget one and subsequently lock myself out of an account.
-
@Crimsonshade Ohh, right. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I guess you’ve already thought of these
- Important is only what one can remember (though you may not agree)
- Search your e-mails for the usual words, such as
register
(if you don’t delete them) - Find the recovery e-mail for every account in your PW manager (if you use one)
-
@Hadden89 Exactly. As far as I know there is not much we can do about that. Google have to fix it.
-
01/2003 ÷ 12/2020 - Goodbye M2
12/2020 ÷ Forever - Welcome Vivaldi Mail -
Still broken:
VB-74795 - the Window panel freezes and stops to update after a new tab opened via existing tab context menu in the Window panel.Nobody else uses Window panel and tab groups?
Opening new tab via context menu is the way to have it inside the same tab group.
And it is impossible to use now. -
[UI] VB-74083 > Separate width checkmark disappeared
While is not a critical one, I hope won't go to stable.
Also, is this an RC2 or RC1+TP fixes ? -
@Hadden89 This is too bad as I'd love to have my Google Calendar in Vivaldi. I guess I'll have to find another way to bring it over. GNOME syncs my Google Calendar with Evolution. Is there any way for Vivaldi to connect with the Evolution calendar?
-
@DarylO maybe you can export the calendar file from evolution and import to vivaldi but for a direct sync we have to wait for oauth app approval. But you can try to open a thread in Linux forum and ask there.

Gmail works now. Two quick remarks: first, the mail panel should be able to open in a tab (as history, downloads etc.) and second, hotmail and yahoo mail favicons do not show (gmail, yandex & aol are OK). Further testing (comparison to M2) is under way!
-
@nutcracker you mean mail page+mail panel in same tab? As the two views are connected and can't be decoupled (or you mean a sidebar-like layout?).
Can confirm for yahoo/hotmail icons. Not implemented yet. -
@hadden89: I mean open mail in new tab, with all the mail folders and the viewer. The sidebar panel is good but I wish I had the possibility of a tab with a full mail client view.
-
@nutcracker Is not the same thing? I mean, the main mail window+the fixed panel (which become a sidebar) in the same tab
-
@Hadden89 Thanks for the suggestion, but it would be too much of a pain to have to update it all the time.
-
Nice update!
Another suggestion: is it possible to integrate F2-search into the search box in New Tab?
Now the search function in the new tab is too weak.

Is anyone else unable to log in to accounts.google.com when in a private window in recent snapshots (including this one)?

This is what Google's login form says when I enter my account e-mail address and click the button to continue:
