Introducing Vivaldi Mail in Technical Preview

@jon Thank you for the explanation. And yeah, I guess I know what hoops you are talking about. For science I tried connecting my Android calendar through CalDAV instead of the Google Calendar option and you can only do that by allowing insecure apps and google nagging you with a dozen emails and checks. It works in the end though. Wouldn’t mind to do that for mail ^^

@luetage, hmmm. I am wondering if it would work to just set it up as an IMAP account or POP account and then enable it in Google. I have not tested it, but maybe it will work. If not, we should fix that as well so that is an option for advanced users.

Oh how I have been waiting for this day to come. I still use Opera 12.18 simply for M2 - it is still doing a great job. I haven't tested M3 yet (can we call it that way officially?) but based on what I read here, it's actually not too different from M2. I see this as a clear plus, part of me had feared that you'd invent something completely different :-). I also appreciate that you added the calendar support. Thank you.

@jon: forgot about the floating panel setting. For everything else is a good design, for email specifically it's a detriment. Maybe there is a way that could be a side app setting like the separate width?

@srart , I am sure there is a way. Feel free to add a feature request.

Any way to hide rss feeds from all messages? Looked everywhere! Thanks.
-
@sushubh There’s a “show feeds” button in the search bar, toggle that after clicking on “all messages”.

The mail client (including RSS, calendar) even as a TP is beautiful, snappy and fast, it was worth the wait. THANKS and congratulations Vivaldi Team, that is quite the achievement!
-
@jon: Now there is a quite a lot of panels in the bar, so maybe is a good time to consider my feature request for adding second panel bar on the right side.

I think options are a good thing and I can see how that can be useful. Have you put something into the Bug / Feature tracking system?
-
@luetage ooh. thanks! took me a while to notice the action bar. send button for mail also appear there. it should have been a bit more highlighted!

@jon It's a thread started on the vivaldi forum in "Feature Requests/Desktop/Panels category" a few months ago.
Is there any other place I should open this feature request? -

I don't understand, this is not a bug, but a feature request.
But if you say so, I will report it there
-
@solidsnake I also saw this and thought it could be dangerous (but I'm maybe wrong) to have the feature requests reported as bugs.
The team could be rapidly overwhelmed and have difficult times for a good follow-up. -
