Vivaldi 3.3 RC 1 – Vivaldi Desktop Browser snapshot 2022.23/26

@steffie: OS tourists deserve what they get. If you're a Mac person, stay a Mac person. If you like Win10, stay there. These people with their privilege who just drop in on various OS's from time to time are unacceptable.

I'm still seeing issues with VB-70698, which started a few snapshots ago.
I don't consider it a show-stopper. It's just some graphical corruption, and I can't even reproduce it consistently. It doesn't crash the browser or anything. As far as I can tell it's a visual annoyance.
Although, in my bug report I think I said that it was only Vivaldi's UI that had some corruption. But it does seem to cause some corruption on the web pages as well (so maybe it's a Chromium issue). The graphical corruption appears on some pages, usually when there is a position:fixed element on the page. So maybe it has to do with how many layers of objects are rendered on the web-page.

@Gwen-Dragon What a pity. But thanks anyway for your information.
-
@ugly: Make a post on forum on which sites is that happening, so that more users can try it.
-
Hardware acceleration still causes graphical glitches, present since the first 3.3 snap.
-
Hopefully we will see M3 after this.

[Themes] Icons of unfocussed Vivaldi internal tabs have extremely low contrast on dark themes (VB-62657)
Great fix, much appreciated!
One minor thing is the search field icon now seems "brighter" compared to Stable, kind of looks out of place. Stable on left:
Also cut off at top?If I have one wish for fixes before Stable it would be a fix for the clearing of the address bar on connect in new tab. Show the URL we're trying to connect and make it work like it did in 3.2.

Nice browser, so sad that is unusable in linux with extensions shortcuts with "in vivaldi" mode not working

I did add that specifically for @Steffie
Anyway, how on earth did you get that copy of my passport photo?

New apparent bug, with this RC1 [it certainly never arose even once for me in the preceding Snapshot] ... pls can anyone confirm?
- Stream a video in PiP.
- Mute it via the PiP mute icon.
- Reload any tab you like in the main browser window.
- The PiP windowlet immediately unmutes itself.
Atm i have only tested this in my main system, ie, ArchLinux KDE.
-
@steffie: Win10 2004 here. Can not confirm.
-
I just found that the tab gets muted when I unmute a video on 9gag.com
I'm on Win10 2004 -
@hadden89: I'am waiting for M3 since the very first technical preview of vivaldi. But I think: The longer it takes the finer the taste.
-
@Janjoore M3 and Vivaldi 3.4 sound like a perfect match, don't you think?

2 new bugs for me:
- www panels has black layout (wtf?)
- typing in history search field freezes browser
-
Please, fix VB-59501.
-
After this broswer update, tiles at https://www.youtube.com fails to show at some random rate. Do anyone else notice this bug?
-
@Vort No problem noticed by me!?
Can you give more details/info (extensions, test with "guest" etc)? -
@Steffie Oh dear. I cannot reproduce this in my SparkyLinux [=Debian] & Arch VMs, nor in my Tower's Test profile of current Stable.
However, in Tower's Stable's Main profile AND Snapshot's Main AND Test profiles, it fails every time. Worse, after a reboot, now i cannot even mute PiP at all -- the instant i click its mute, it unmutes even before i can do anything else.
Ergo, it implies this is my local problem with three of my profiles, & probably not a genuine RC1 bug. Oh joy.
