Private window themes Our theme support is second to none but allowing you seemingly endless ways to colorize your windows has come at a price for some users. Outside of certain cues in the address bar, which can be hidden, it can be hard to tell normal and private windows apart. So we are providing […]

@Ornorm Nice one!
Further improvements to our blocker rule support
"Our ad and tracker blocker arrived a couple of releases back but that is not the end of the story. We have been steadily adding support for more of the rules found in popular blocking lists. Today we added a few more. So if you held off on using our blocker and stuck with a third party extension, now might be the day to give ours another try." -
On Linux with an affected locale? Start Vivaldi from a terminal like so

[Edit]: I went ahead and added this to the main blog post now

Couldn’t test yet. But I’m curious, does that mean you finally stopped theming the addressfield and searchfield differently in private windows? Because this has been inconsistent since the beginning and still is full of mistakes.
-
@luetage Yes, it uses a whole new theme, and is consistent now.
-
@LonM Hallelujah!
-
I really like the new theme for Private Windows. Good job!
-
Huh... Looks like no matter what you search for in Settings, "Private windows theme" shows up every time.
-
@legobuilder26: Besides that, everything is looking great so far. Thanks for such an awesome browser!
-
@legobuilder26 Please file a bug report for this - thanks. https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/

Built-in adblocker is a good thing.
But don't even think about dropping uBlock Origin support -
@LonM Reported as VB-71121
-
@legobuilder26: Yes if typed something that's not in Vivaldi options it defaults back to private window theme.
-
Why Vivaldis built in adblocker does not block domains, I completely block facebook using ||facebook.com^ but it does not work.

[New][Themes] Allow the use of a sperate theme for private windows (VB-28543)
typo
"sperate" instead of separate -
Nice addition. My suggestion : the option to also set a different speed dial background image. other than that
-
[Windows][Crash] Fails to start on 10 pro N edition if media pack is not install (VB-68691)
Great fix!
-
I don't see the need for the "Private Theme" at all.
- If the user has not selected a different theme for Private windows, just show the current theme in Settings, Private Window Theme
- If the user has selected a different theme to the current theme, then show that as selected when opening a private window.
-
@vort: How would that even work? I've never heard of a browser selectively banning extensions, have you?
