@enc0re My Windows Taskbar is on autohide at the bottom of the screen. My Vivaldi clock is at the top where my attention constantly goes to use the other buttons, bookmarks, or URL field.

@Catweazle @marek-gontarczyk: Exactly the same issue than me: I'm on Android 9 and MIUI 11.0.7 and I update from beta to stable. I check the settings, but it just doesn't work.

Congratulations on new release with new features. Now, when a major update is out, I hope devs will have some time to fix the most annoying bugs that were reported by many users months or even years ago, and they still exist in v3.

I note from your signature you're a Windows user, so this might be a GNU/Linux-only bug. Alternatively, it might just be a corrupt profile as I've carried the same profile over from very early V versions. Thank you for taking the time to look. Hopefully this info will still be useful if it turns out to be one of those intermittent things only some users see.

@frogworth: have you considered Bitwarden password manager in place of Lastpass? Unti 4 weeks ago I had been a happy Lastpass user for many years, but decided to give Bitwarden a try,having heard it worked well with Vivaldi android. Bitwarden is now my password manager of choice, only took 15 minutes to export everything over from Lastpass to Bitwarden with no issues. Last thought, as another person has already posted it is the job of Lastpass devs to get their password manager working with Vivaldi, not the other way round. Bitwarden devs sorted this out in a very short period, getting their password manager to be compatible with Vivaldi. Lastpass need to up their game I think.
+1 for Bitwarden as a better alternative to Lastpass. It's free and open source, which means it's likely to be a lot more trustworthy (not a hard-and-fast rule, but it at least tips the odds in your favour).
I would also like to suggest "Keepass" as well, which is also free and open source. You can store your Keepass db on your cloud drive if you really want it accessible from anywhere - no need for its own special cloud. I personally just keep the db on the local device. I haven't used Bitwarden so can't compare it, but I like Keepass because you don't need any browser extensions - it'll autotype (on PC) or copy/paste (on Android) your credentials into any other app. Naturally it clears the clipboard so your password doesn't stay visible if you use the copy/paste method. I have it installed on my dumb-phone (J2ME mobile Java version), my Android tab, and my GNU/Linux boxes. I know there's also a Windows version, and I think also a Mac port. Naturally, it works flawlessly with PC and Android Vivaldi.
IMHO you shouldn't trust something as important as your passwords or your cloud storage to proprietary software, especially if it is gratis. (Whilst Vivaldi is proprietary, some source code is available and the devs are always very transparent).

Just finally got round to trying V for Android and I'm very impressed. I think it would be perfect if there was an option to force it to always load in permanent browsing mode. On the desktop, it's easy enough to use the "delete browsing data" dialogue with everything selected and "all time" as the timeframe every time you close the browser (or to edit the V shortcut) - but on mobile this requires diving into the settings every time.

Android has built-in autofill service which is used by LastPass/1Password and other password managers (https://www.blog.google/products/android/use-your-favorite-password-manager-android-oreo/). I don't think that's true. Bitwarden works fine in Vivaldi Android and it uses the autofill service.
In Vivaldi Android Snapshot, it does not work properly (when I try to autofill it shows my Vivaldi login regardless of which page I'm actually on), but that has been fixed with some simple changes to Bitwarden's app and should come in the next version of it. So I'd guess that LastPass and 1Password simply haven't added for Vivaldi in their apps' lists of browsers.

How does the build in Ad-blocker compare to ublock origin? And on what is it based? Or is it made specifically for Vivaldi?

What a great work ! I tried Vivaldi years ago and had difficulty to change my habits. I felt many thing were too unstable. I came back to it a few weeks ago and what a thrill ! It has become my default browser on all my devices and I feel invested of a kind of missionary duty. This new version pushed the limits even further, it is simply amazing to see the work that has been done. Congratulations !

Tested right after upgrading. I had a feeling it will block way less ads than uBlock Origin and I was right - Vivaldi's blocker can't block as many ads as uBlock. In brief, about 10-20% of ads are not blocked (depends on type of ads).

I didn't read the last couple of hundred posts, but I wanted to share something a little odd I experienced when updating the stable yesterday.
After updating a work laptop in the morning, there were another three machines to update in the evening: two on Win10 and one Lubuntu. For the two Win10 PCs, I updated Vivaldi, then went through my profile and my wife's profile to check the settings (e.g. set default to block trackers and ads), then when I went back to my own profile and tried to start Vivaldi again nothing happened! I had to reboot both before things launched normally. I also seemed to get very slow or no reaction when initiating the update on a couple of the machines (the Lubuntu netbook, a Win10 desktop and I think I had the same thing on the work laptop). Pretty sure the desktop didn't actually start Vivaldi after updating until I manually tried launching it a couple of times.
If it had happened just once then I wouldn't really have noticed, but the fact I got the same kind of unresponsiveness during/after installation on several different machines in different configurations seems more than a coincidence. Luckily, all seem fine after rebooting. Wonder if there's a process started during installation which isn't shutting down properly.

@pesala: I'm not an address bar user, so such argument has no power here.
Besides, what I'm asking for is alternative ways to activate the clock, by options in menu, shortcuts or even in the right click menu, to show it as a popup window or something like that, that's all. Vivaldi normally gives to its users all the options we need to make us comfortable. I'm counting on this behavior.

Two regressions in the desktop browser 3.0.
First, dragging the icon from the address bar to Writer does not copy over the page URL any longer. Instead I get the first element in the page, which is unwanted and unorthodox behavior.
Second, right-clicking in a Web Panel and selecting Reload reloads the main page in the background rather than the Web Panel. So there is no current way to reload Web Panels, which is very undesirable.
