Wrapping up for release – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1745.9

Last stable release before the end of the year and hopefully last release before the mail client
I am thinking the same, 2020 will bring Mail client with Vivaldi.
-
@uhm First of all, please stay on topic. You can create a new thread in the forum, snapshot threads are for feedback on snapshots.
I also see that not so many things pop up, but don't forget it's a small team (~40) for:
- a browser
- website (that also takes much effort I think)
- forum & community
- sync
- Android version
- and probably finalizing the mail client (who knows?)
- did I forget anything?
Could some mod please move these two posts out? Thanks.

It can't be differently, Vivaldi 3.0 goes hand in hand with M 3.0 , breaking the tech news everywhere

Do you know which property?
.menuitem .entry color
is set to more-or-less white, so this obvious style isn't taken into account -- as in older snapshots. I can tweak my color profile, but maybe others will take this as a show-stopper.I guess it has something to do with this (from the linked line till end of the
menu
selectors). -

The best person to assist you is @potmeklecbohdan , pretty good in modification.
Not really. This is more a Gtk thing and I'm not an expert at Gtk's CSS.
-
@valdyn: Some extensions seems to cause the window not to close, we have a bug on it that we are working on
-
@potmeklecbohdan Thanks a lot, that might give me some clue! I'll try to dig into that in the next days.
-
@m-p-y Out of curiosity, what Gtk theme do you use?

Which posts (Url)? I can do that. Better flag them for moderation.

The extensions overlay popup should probably take another background color (maybe
--colorAccentBg
?) as "dark" extension icons tend to disappear on darker themes. -
@Aronand I see my VB-60533 is a duplicate then. Good to know ^^
-
Edit: I disabled a couple of extension and the problem with the memory didn't happen again. Even after I activated them all again it didn't happen again.
I still have those freezes a times where the browser becomes unresponsive. Especially after playing around on the extension management page the browser somehow got unresponsive for a few seconds.
Only happens on this Kubuntu VM with the snapshot version. Stable version has no problems and also on Windows this new snapshot seems to work fine.
Oh jeez, my performance problem became worse.
This snapshot now contains a memory leak which is causing the used memory to grow indefinitely until the browser crashes and I get this error message
I am using Kubuntu 18.04 LTS within VirtualBox. Performance problem started with the last snapshot, where I did get freezes at random times.
Anyone else having this problem? -
Still, no fix for VB-59606: Pages' JS Dialog isn't clickable for a few seconds after appearing
Btw, would be nice if the webpanels also had a toggle in the sidebar, just like the extensions toggle -
@npro: i really hope it won't break my mails though ... bugs can be really devastating there
-
@rammsteinam: on Windows you can install any always-on-top app. MenuTools is a great one, although it's pretty old now and can't start with Windows automatically (requires you to run it manually each time).
A lot of Linux environments has this built-in, probably you can hack the others that don't
Not great (having dev tools ALWAYS on top may be annoying), but could do the job sometimes as a workaround (or nice tip for other applications too)
-
OK there's a new bug in town, if you drag a tab out of the current window, it's not there in the new window, which is blank with no tabs at all.
-
@npro: hmm, seems to work fine here ...
Win10x64 Vx64
-
@Aronand I tried with a completely new profile which has no extensions and the problem persists. If this helps you:
- Go to http://otrs-demo.i-cron.de/otrs/index.pl
- Login with demo / demo
- Click on a ticket.
- Add a note.
- Cancel the note in the popup window.
-> an empty popup windows stays open.

It happens if I drag a tab INSIDE the page in the same window, but the dragged tab remains where it was. Definately a bug.
If I drag the tab in the desktop or in another Vivaldi window tab bar it gets moved correctly. -
@iAN-CooG yep, exactly how it happens, I have the window maximized all the time and so the drag "out" is always made "inside the screen" for me, thanks.
