Logo is so ugly

@TranslucentTB Look at the 10th post of this thread.
And how should it be changed? If you don’t at least describe your feelings (better would be directly coming w/ an idea), there’s only a very little chance that you’ll be excited from the new version.
A simple example (my PoV), far from being ideal: I feel the colour is too cold/dead. The red used in the old icon was live; but doesn’t fit to the new shape. I also like the transparency of the old icon. And these squares that don’t have even a single piece of border straight (?) are not my cup of tea. Simple squares w/ a little bit (3 to 5 px) rounded corners are better IMO.
And please be prepared that not everyone will agree with you: for example, I’m nearly 100% sure Gwen-Dragon doesn’t share my opinion on the shape, as she wrote above.

A logo of a product never likes everyone equally and that of Vivaldi is naturally no exception.
But, just like the logos of other browsers, it evolves with small changes over the years.
I think Vivaldi is a community project and everyone is free to present suggestions and ideas for the browser and add some transparency to the logo, for practical purposes it is perhaps not such a bad idea.
That the logo is copyrighted is normal, to prevent from using it for another product, but at the level of personal use for the Vivaldi of the user, there is no problem of applying the custom changes -
The issue that I reported has been fixed. The background on the Start Menu is now transparent, like most other logos.

After all, the logo is not something that has changed.
It has changed. A new squircle icon was added for version 1.11

I wonder what it would look like if styled in a similar way to Microsoft Edge's new icon (I like it).

@Catweazle Hey! This is sooooo original

@Catweazle OK, now that was just mean. :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:

@Catweazle OMG!
Looks like the tail of a fox was chopped and presented laying on a white plate on a kindergarden table!
The kindergarden plate is from the original logo.
And no, means that Vivaldi is hot -
Yum, foxy tails
-
An idea I had was to have it sort of wrapping around itself like a twisted ribbon...
-
@Gwen-Dragon haha

I can't get tired of seeing Vivaldi his look, I don't just mean Vivaldi's logo (by the way, it's very well done).
What fascinates me most is how many settings Vivaldi has that no other browser has.
Starting with the course, very detailed you can look at his surfing history.
That you can place the address bar in Vivaldi above or below, the table bar everywhere (left, right, above or below) I find very exciting.
Of course Vivaldi's themes are a unique selling point.
Sometimes I color my Vivaldi colored, then sometimes completely black or squeaky yellow, everything is possible.
And all this is crowned by a very professional forum.
I am a technical layman, and therefore very grateful, which was helped me here in this forum already often.
Unique is also that you can try out modifications from developers in the Vivaldi Forum.
E.g.
- History Clock (keeping easter egg alive)
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/36080/history-clock-keeping-easter-egg-alive
- Import and Export Themes
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/33154/import-and-export-themes
- Backup Search Engines
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/35443/backup-search-engines
A browser couldn't be more beautiful and versatile. -
@stardepp Just don’t go so blindly
Themes? Chrome has themes as well (though you need some knowledge to create one). Mods? Ah, it’s the same as extensions, except for that we’re not officially supported…
But I must agree that Vivaldi has many nice features. Settings: nice; all this is by default. Panels, profiles, quick commands, mouse gestures: all is nice.

That looks like logo of a fighting school…
It is not very shabby in view of Vivaldi's fight against the greats of the sector. It is a modification I made of a stock logo

Just in theory, are we ready to change logo? Because I know a guy who can make something really cool (I saw his logo for Firefox).

@Semenov-Sherin Would you show it to us? I’m quite curious.
