The first of many – Vivaldi Android Browser snapshot 1624.207

@stevekong: Beta stream will become Final. Snapshot will be separate. So two public streams.

Great news, and nice to have the pretty, unobtrusive snapshot icon on my homescreen now
I was wondering why no update was possible on my PC. Somehow overlooked the "Android" part Maybe "Mobile" is more intuitiv?
The UI (Address Bar on top/Speed Dial Bar on bottom) no longer disappears when scrolling down a website. Is that intentional? I know some people asked for an option to switch that off due to the ever elongating form factor of modern smartphones.

Nope. Clearing data and cache of Playstore didn't help.
Same errors here, but worth trying as it is usually the first step to solve the awkards problems with the store.//Update: Also removed play store updates which usually solve problems with apps, but is the same. Country/incompatibility issue.
//Update too: Would be more useful to know if someone managed to install it from the store and from where (country) as I'm almost sure is their issue: it still says 0+ installations, which I find it hardly true.
And sometimes such issues just "magically disappear". -
"Product unavailable in your country" oO

@ruario: I have the same issue. Vivaldi Browser Beta has been installed fine since I gained access to it, but Vivaldi Browser Snapshot is marked as incompatible. Tested the solution you linked to but no dice.

not really, Mobile is too generic and doesn't specify which mobile OS, Vivaldi is for Android only.

Good news, notes don't seem to duplicate anymore on desktop. After the last hiccup I reset remote data cleaned up the desktop snapshot and emptied the trash, after adding a note on mobile it appears correctly on desktop with no additions.
On mobile I have about 2 dozen empty notes, which can't be deleted, a couple of notes which I deleted on desktop before even resetting remote data, for which I have no explanation how they can even be there and several duplicate entries. All of this doesn't seem to affect my notes on desktop though.

@ian-coog: Also, if we did add another
In any case, longer term we will probably have two snapshot blogs going forward. One only about desktop and one about mobile because the UIs are developed independently and having a distinct blog for each means people can track only the updates they are interested in.

I am pretty certain that the problems with install are a Play Store issue that will correct itself after some time. In the mean time, if you cannot wait you can use the .apk files as outlined in the blog post above.
Play store informs us that it is compatible with 10000 devices for the 32-bit and 3300 for the 64-bit versions and as has been noted by the people who used the apk links, it is installable via that method. In addition the .apk links are the packages we uploaded to play. There is not difference in their contents.
EDIT
OK my latest theory is that it shows the incompatible device error when you attempt to remote install from desktop and only shows the more accurate "not available in your country" error (because roll out takes a while) when you try and do it from your phone. Maybe someone wants to test this?

xiaomi mi a2 lite android one with android 9 - This app is incompatible with all of your devices.
-
@joao-rossa This is a Play Store roll out issue. You can either wait or use the apk links listed in the blog post.

I have a problem with password manager. This is a chromium issue. Google has fixed it in Chrome. It's quite irritating. Because when I need to fill out a password field it always shows for address com.vivaldi.browser instead of URL of the page I'm visiting. It's related to this bug report https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=996402&q=component%3AUI>Browser>Autofill OS%3DAndroid &colspec=ID Pri M Stars ReleaseBlock Component Status Owner Summary OS Modified

@ruario: I tried clearing cache and data and I have the error.
"This item isn't available in your country."Typing from Portugal here

@Hadden89 Snap! Same phone here!
(Does your back cover keep peeling off as well?)
-
@mossman (Mine actually is slightly burnt on the angles due keeping it in pockets)
-
How..?? Why..??
Never mind. Best not to ask...
Edit: Ha ha, you cheat! Editing the comment just when I submit mine!
-
@killchain: Did you see this error from the Play Store app on your phone or did you see it via the web interface?

@komposten: Did you see this error from the Play Store app on your phone or did you see it via the web interface?

@hadden89: I suspect that the incompatible device error displays when you attempt to remote install from their webpage and only shows the more accurate "not available in your country" error (because roll out takes a while) when you try and do it from your phone. Could you test this?
