The first of many – Vivaldi Android Browser snapshot 1624.207
-
-
something wrong in the package (apk)
It is the same apk in the store as the one you downloaded.
-
@ruario Nothing yet
Steps done:
- Removed installed snapshot via apk (obviously I checked for the correct cpu platform)
- Rebooted phone (to avoid strange glitches with play services)
- Opened this page with vivaldi beta
- Opened the store
- The message says "not available in your country" on play store app and still "not compatible" on play store desktop.
-
-
I think I'll try again this evening.
The package is actually not even listed yet in "Vivaldi Tecnologies" apps.
So, I'm pretty sure is a g00gle issue.
I only see the snapshot with the direct link, and the same supposed "incompatibility/inavailability in my country" happen on dad's phone, Huawei P8 Lite Oreo 8.0.Patience must be the key to get the vivaldi snapshot spree.
-
@hadden89: Same here ("This app is incompatible with your device") and I haven't tried installing it yet (I only have the Beta installed); my device is a Nexus 6P running Lineage 15.1 (Android 8.1).
-
@killchain Guess will be solved soon. I fear that changes from devs to the app store need time to be applied.
-
VB-57572 not fixed
-
App declares itself incompatible with all my devices. It is, of course, compatible with all but one of them. Something wrong here.
-
Is beta going to be final one day or will you provide three streams: final, beta and snapshot?
-
@ayespy: hi, do you want to try this https://support.getupside.com/hc/en-us/articles/226667067--Device-not-compatible-error-message-in-Google-Play-Store ?
-
@stevekong: Beta stream will become Final. Snapshot will be separate. So two public streams.

Great news, and nice to have the pretty, unobtrusive snapshot icon on my homescreen now
I was wondering why no update was possible on my PC. Somehow overlooked the "Android" part Maybe "Mobile" is more intuitiv?
The UI (Address Bar on top/Speed Dial Bar on bottom) no longer disappears when scrolling down a website. Is that intentional? I know some people asked for an option to switch that off due to the ever elongating form factor of modern smartphones.
-
Nope. Clearing data and cache of Playstore didn't help.
Same errors here, but worth trying as it is usually the first step to solve the awkards problems with the store.//Update: Also removed play store updates which usually solve problems with apps, but is the same. Country/incompatibility issue.
//Update too: Would be more useful to know if someone managed to install it from the store and from where (country) as I'm almost sure is their issue: it still says 0+ installations, which I find it hardly true.
And sometimes such issues just "magically disappear". -
"Product unavailable in your country" oO
-
@ruario: I have the same issue. Vivaldi Browser Beta has been installed fine since I gained access to it, but Vivaldi Browser Snapshot is marked as incompatible. Tested the solution you linked to but no dice.

not really, Mobile is too generic and doesn't specify which mobile OS, Vivaldi is for Android only.

Good news, notes don't seem to duplicate anymore on desktop. After the last hiccup I reset remote data cleaned up the desktop snapshot and emptied the trash, after adding a note on mobile it appears correctly on desktop with no additions.
On mobile I have about 2 dozen empty notes, which can't be deleted, a couple of notes which I deleted on desktop before even resetting remote data, for which I have no explanation how they can even be there and several duplicate entries. All of this doesn't seem to affect my notes on desktop though.

@ian-coog: Also, if we did add another
In any case, longer term we will probably have two snapshot blogs going forward. One only about desktop and one about mobile because the UIs are developed independently and having a distinct blog for each means people can track only the updates they are interested in.
