I have razer keyboard... but it seems no work together:
The flame effect keeps going, no matter what website I see.
Also, I can't control the effects - "vivaldi controlling your device lighting"

Whatsapp web not working in 2.5!! pls fix!
-
Thanks!

I loved Vivaldi but I had to switch back to Firefox because I can't live without bookmark tagging. It looks like you guys never plan to add it. So sad.
-
@krissasaur: Oh, it doesn't work with Whatsapp Web anymore either so it was a waste for me to even entertain the thought of using it again even if bookmark tagging was added.
-
The more I look at that demo video, the more I think how well it would look with accent transitions; if only this was a built-in feature.
-
I feel like you're focusing too much on superfluous new features instead of community feature requests and performance issues. But anyways, keep up the good work, and never stop bringing us improvements!
-
@lucasantunes Opera has just announced how they are copying Vivaldi's concept and idea only just 2 weeks after Vivaldi did this great move of targeting the PC gamer crowd, shamelessly advertising it as "theirs", so I doubt it's superfluous, they 've just shit their pants of losing users to Vivaldi, which shows how powerful Vivaldi is and becomes day by day.
-
The vast majority of people commenting on that announcement (per their blog), which I assume are Opera users, are not impressed and indeed seem to find it superfluous. So that assertion is not without it's merits. Unless you have some data to support your claim?
Opera have been doing a whole lot of copying anyway so this isn't anything new.

@npro I'd guess they put their own spin on it. The concept of a gaming browser is somewhat flawed, because few gamers play in the browser. Games are either standalone apps, distributed through platforms like Steam, run on company software (Blizzard), etc. – Quite pointless.
-
Another new feature! … in no way related to web browsing.
Nice achievement. -

@sjudenim Their blog consists of some user relics of old Opera Presto that are addicted to using the brandname (and because they can sync with the mobile app) despite knowing that Opera under new management has nothing to do with the old Opera (due to Jon leaving of course) and are never being heard throughout the years, yet keep asking for the same things all over again like tab stacks etc. It's pretty funny and tragic at the same time lol. It's only a sometimes "loud" very minor fragment (how many are there 10-20 people out of millions of users) of the whole user base which consists of non-tech savvy people and fashionistas who are being offered an alternative iOS product with the same "lifestyle". Remember they are designing the browser the way they know it will create more revenue for them and not for that minority's needs, behind them they have (chinese) shareholders who want to see growing numbers to keep funding the giant (on clay feet, if you look at the browser share which is at about 1.5%, constantly falling throughout the years despite huge false advertisement efforts and redesigning the UI 2 times a year presenting the browser as new every time, and mostly because of the penetration in Africa due to their mobile news app). It is of no coincidence this move they made 2 weeks after Vivaldi, or how would you explain it?
@luetage As far as I read and understood it's not a gaming browser the way you describe it, it's closer to what Vivaldi did, a browser for gaming setups (hardware peripherals etc)
-
That sounds like a whole lot of conjecture.
Opera is currently sitting at a 1.6% market share on desktop/laptop. If I recall correctly, Presto used to occupy a 3.6% dent in market share. That would suggest that new Opera is haemorrhaging users, and things are worse on mobile (0.37%) which used to be even stronger. They currently have 2 or 3 different UI variations in the works to try and appeal to someone, it wreaks of desperation to me
(yes, that's conjecture too. Now here's some more).
Gamers are a niche market and not every gamer uses those peripherals, so really it's a niche inside of a niche. Personally I don't mind but I would like to see long standing issues not take so much of a backseat to things like this, which inevitably will bring in some new bugs of their own. But I understand the need to keep things fresh too, it's a balancing act and I think Vivaldi are doing a good job with it.
A bigger gripe is the fixed release date, the last few stables haven't been ready for those dates and have had updates within a few days of their release. This has been a trend in tech that I'm not a fan of. But I digress...

@sjudenim
I second this, RC time is to short.
Sometimes a stable release was published 2 days after a release candidate, way to short for serious testing. It should be a week at least.Cheers, mib

Depends, what kind of feature you are testing.
-
@jacekn: I have exactly the same issue. Left tiled tab is sluggish/slow. Did you file a bug report?
And anyone knows if I can contribute to that?
-
Will there be support for Logitech G and Corsair soon? Asking for a friend :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat:

@pesala: "Gamers spend hours online doing nothing useful for anyone. Typical games involve racing and shooting, both of which cultivate unhealthy mental habits."
"I don't doubt that gaming is a huge market, as is porn. They are of a similar nature — both of them corrupt the mind."
Did you have fun on your soap box? Geeez. I bet you think rock and roll is the devil as well XD
-
@pesala: "One developer spent a couple of months thinking about how to implement it (no doubt he was working on other stuff too, but it was not a simple thing to do)"
Do you have a source for that? Razer has a full SDK for their Chroma lighting system. I HIGHLY doubt writing the code to simply pass the accent color selected in Vivaldi (or the accent color adapted from the current page) to the Chroma service took any significant amount of time. Def not anywhere near enough taht twenty to thirty other things could have been done. If so that programmer needs to be fired.
