Feature: Multiple Tab Rows
-
The ability to have more than one row of tabs when a lot of webpages are open (instead of having ever more tiny tabs squeezed together) is what I miss most from Opera 12. My question is, it this possible with Vivaldi (I looked, but couldn't find a setting) or is this planned for a future release? Cala

Have you tried using tab-stacking? Drop one tab on top of another.

Yes, but 'Tab grouping' 'Tab stacking' and such just feel like a workaround.
As longterm Opera user I switched to Chrome for some months and tried to get used to the lack of bars and change the way I work, to no avail.
As far as I am aware Chrome/Chromium (unlike Firefox) doesn't allow modification of the UI to such a degree, that's why there aren't any extensions for this feature either.
Thus my question:
Is this something the Vivaldi-team actually can do?
If yes, if that's something planned for a future release? -

I didn't know you can do that in Opera 12. How can I do that?
Right-click tab bar/ customize appearance/ position: top (or bottom)/ select "wrap to multiple lines."

That's what I've been talking about! That is the number 1 feature I need in a browser because I love it! As a power user I always have more than 30 tabs open simultaneously. I just remade a post with a picture on the Feature Request topic.

This would be the one feature that I'd need to switch right now. I know it's a tech preview, might crash, is incomplete etc, but the moment it wraps tabs it will become my daily browser.

+1
A guy in this thread was trying to implement this in a custom.css a while back:
https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/all/3073-vivaldi-ui-customisations?start=40I tried the code and couldn't get it to work.

You know what else would be nice with the multi line tabs? If there was an autohide with the second line, third line, and so on. And could be activated with mouse hover and/or keyboard shortcut. I think it would be cool.

Opening loads of tabs in Vivaldi may now be possible if using the Tab Hibernate feature, but it's still a waste of space to have multiple rows. To save space use Tab Stacking. Opera 12.17 makes it easy to manage large number of tabs in stacks without wasting screen real-estate.

I signed up just to reply to this thread. This is the single biggest thing I need in any browser, and with Chrome I don't believe it's even possible. However, Vivaldi has such a customised interface that I think they could add this in quite easily (relatively speaking!), and that would clinch it for me to use Vivaldi 100% of the time. Tab Mix Plus has been steadily getting worse on Firefox, and I stopped using FF a long time ago when performance went out the window.
Please, Vivaldi devs, add this feature in as it's a game changer for me and the others here.

@luckypotato I'm pretty sure it's possible, it's just that Vivaldi developers have a lot (like a really lot) of work to do (just check out the latest Feature Request thread to see for yourself), so you might have to wait for some time before such feature will ever make it to Vivaldi (I'm sure it will at some point).
Just so you know, in my experience commenting on any thread (or making new threads) about features that you miss/want/need will not speed things up in any way, so you might as well spare yourself the trouble.
What I would like to propose to you instead is to visit the Modifications category, as we have a lot of talented people out there using Vivaldi, making mods for it and sharing them with others. You should especially take a look at this one as it has the workaround for multiline tabs.
Oh, and you can actually speed things up (in some way) if you'll spread the word about Vivaldi with your friends, relatives, colleagues, co-workers etc.
