@petergyger Exporting bookmarks to HTML is the only solution, you just have to decide what to do with it. You can import them to a desktop browser that has sync and an android version and use both browsers to complement your Vivaldi install. You can also transfer the HTML file to your Android device and simply open it with an Android browser. The netscape bookmark file will show as webpage and then you just click the links to go places. That's what I currently do. A third option would be to use some sort of bookmarks manager extension on Firefox for Android and then just import the HTML file. Or use some kind of cloud bookmarks manager and access it online on both Vivaldi and an Android browser. Your choice.

@luetage Thanks for your Answer. To use my Bookmarks on different Devices is importent for my. Windows Mobile was not successfully, so i switch to Android.
Since over 2 Years i wait for a Android Version. The only Answer is "WIR" - (When is ready). I suprise that the community accept that so quitly.
To wait for the "Sync" was OK. A little Team, less Resources and a difficult Job. But Android Version is fundamental. I have to think what i do with a Browser without a mobile Version oder Solution for the Bookmarks.
When i sync my bookmarks, why i can't access them over HTTP(s)? The Bookmarks are on the Servers from Vivaldi. What is the Reason that the User has no Web Access to the Bookmarks?

@petergyger Web access to bookmarks would be a welcome intermediate solution. You can write a feature request for it.

I recently exported bookmarks from vivaldi to an html file. Then I used the bromite browser on android and imported. It worked. My bookmarks file had over 1300 in it. It kinda surprised me.
So, that is another solution for android for the time being. bromite is just a basic chromium with several patches applied (doH, ungoogled, adblock list internal, etc) and works on v4.1 android or above. If you try to use ff exported html bookmarks file, it might not work.
Note: After you export your v bookmarks to an html file, just email it to yourself. Then you have a ready copy for all your devices.
bromite places the bookmarks under "mobile bookmarks". -

What would you have the users do? Storm the Vivaldi offices and force them to finish the mobile version at gunpoint? The community accepts the current state of progress "so quietly" mostly because they trust the founder and the developers to put their best efforts forward. Harassment will not accelerate anything, and most users understand this.
There is no web access to bookmarks over security concerns, and the reality that keeping sync secure at the same time as exposing some of its data via the web is a fraught issue that must be handled carefully. There is an idea to provide web access to bookmarks, etc. - but security concerns must be overcome first.

If you are truly desperate, I have a potential solution using firefox, the best 2nd choice for a browser after vivaldi in my mind.
- Import all your bookmarks to firefox on desktop
- Set up a firefox sync account
- Use firefox for android
Then you can just periodically re-import your vivaldi bookmarks to firefox on the desktop.
Hopefully it won't be too long until we get a proper android version of vivaldi.

@luetage OK - i put it on my task list - asap

@slake That is my Solution too. Export to HTML, import in other Browsers. "Bromite" is a good Idea. I has to check this Option. Or the new Edge, based on Chromium.

@Ayespy Security concerns are important. Nobody wants an insecure Browser.
But it is not the Decision from the Manufacturer what i like to do. I sync my Bookmarks, because i have benefits. Or simply i do it, because i'm a Human and i not need to say way. I'm responsible for the Risk and i know today a lot of Person don't feel so. Like a child...
Discussion like this are necessary to force the mobile Version. I like the Idea from Vivaldi, but i'm not a blind Fan. I like to know where the Train goes in this Year.
"WIR" is not a Answer, in fact it'ts quite arrogant. Software Development means to have a plan, what you do with the Resources. "WIR" says A: not on the tasklist OR B: Depend from the Weather.
In any case, this discussion has provided me with the necessary answers. I thank everyone for that.

@petergyger I understand your position. However, the security concerns are not for single users. They are for all user data all at once. Without certain safeguards, a web interface can compromise everyone's data at the same time.
