Better naming for screenshots – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1430.4

@LonM Do you have the exit confirmation for windows on? If yes: switch it off. That should help mitigating most of those splash screen crash issues.
Why dragging in the panels does not work for you: No clue. Works for me in this snapshot.

@Gwen-Dragon I already had it set to "Sort Manually". Strangely, it started working again after some normal browsing for about an hour despite me not changing the sorting or anything else. I've reported a bug anyway as @potmeklecbohdan also experienced this, so it's clearly an issue (VB-48375).
As for the detaching all tabs into a new window, I had already discussed this with a tester in the Vivaldi discord as it was happening in the last snapshot as well, so I believe it should already be reported.
@QuHno I have the confirmations turned off, and it still happens -
Settings, Appearance, Use Native Window does not work properly.
When I restart, the Vivaldi window is not using the Native window title bar. The settings dialogue is though. No issue in 2.2 Stable.
(VB-48378) Settings, Appearance, Native Window Not Working
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit 1809 build 17763.253 • Snapshot 2.3.1430.4 (64-bit)

@Pesala For me on w7 works.
-
@potmeklecbohdan Same here on W10.
-
@Pesala Strange, works fine here.
-
@npro Curiouser, and curiouser.
-
No Window controls.
-
Scrolling on Tab Bar works like a native window should
-
Move tab to new window opens a native window without a restart.
Edit: I stripped any custom CSS mods, and the bug still exists.
I tested on my secondary landscape monitor too, with the same result. -

Yeah, thanks Vteam

I've noticed a couple of issues with the last two snapshots.
One is occasional crashes. I've only noticed this when I'm loading a lot of tabs (like 20+) and then the crash usually happens when I close a tab. I can't reproduce every time, but it does happen when I open a lot of tabs on Amazon one after the next the start closing the Amazon tabs while many are still loading in the background.
The other issue that's come up in the last two snapshots is that my start page takes a few seconds to load up the Speed Dial icons. The browser will start and usually show my start page background with the wallpaper as if there are no bookmarks at all. After about 5-10 seconds everything shows up.
I'm on Linux Mint 19.1 x64

@ugly Refreshing my profile helped me in 2 of previous SS updates, they kept crashing often after update but after refresh they stayed stable. Now the latest 2 SS are strangely stable for me, not a single crash, even in Private window, while I keep reading other people having that problem. In any case refreshing the profile doesn't hurt.

One question only: Should I install a new e-mail client or wait for Vivaldi?

Read Jon's message. https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24407/m3-mail-rss-reader/42

@nutcracker If you need an email client, just install one. I recently switched to Mailspring and am quite happy with it. There's no point in waiting for the Vivaldi one, because the timeline has been the same for years: getting closer every day and will be released when ready. Could come out tomorrow or 2021, impossible to predict as long as they keep us in the dark.

or Godot? :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:

@luetage: Mailspring has very nasty bug and they haven't fixed it for over a year now (over a year, because this is not first time this issue was reported):
https://github.com/Foundry376/Mailspring/issues/591Last comment is mine.
After I resent the mail from Gmail - Mailspring still bugs and put my mail into it's own "No subject" thread. Removing single message from thread makes whole thread visible in Trash. I'm scared to clear the trash, worrying about whole thread being removed.In general - I was all for Mailspring before I had chance to use it for several months. After that time I consider it too buggy to be used for something as sensitive as e-mails.
To sum it up - I gave up on waiting for M3 in Vivaldi, but now I'm going back to just keep waiting.

@npro: Deactivating Sync helps and fixes the crashing for me.
-
@pesala: I confirm here. Don't show any option
-
@Pesala Now I wanted to try and ALT-P doesn't bring up settings for me anymore. It's already the 2nd time after update. I had to use menu tools/settings, remove Alt-P from keyboard short cut and put it back again. Now Alt-P reacts again and settings tab is opened.
In any case, for me the dropdown for select bookmark bar folder shows correctly all entries.
Damn random bugs. -
Am I missing something? Where do you set how you want to name your screenshots?
