Clearing Sync data. Please wait (forever?)

Hello,
could someone help me with this please? I noticed I had an error while syncing since yesterday (the message was something like : Can't access data from the server).
In addition to that, another message pointing the fact I was using the same password for my profile and for syncing which seemed not to be recommended.
Therefore, it was suggested to first clear my Sync data before logging again to change the Sync password.
Unfortunately, it's been +/- 25 minutes since then and I'm stuck with :
I'm now scared to close Vivaldi or to do anything else that could quite mix everything up.
Does someone know what to do?

yes, I know there was a big maintenance happening.
Unfortunately, the issue I face here happened +/- 1h30 ago so I'm not sure it is linked to the maintenance.
Theis still turning (I have the feeling I'm in front of my washing machine...

Hi, I have sync a system 20 minutes ago without problems.
It seams your update system is freezed or crashed, no way as to kill it.
Save/rename your profile directory before you start sync again.
You get a new blank profile and after sync all passwords, notes, bookmarks and some settings are restored. Hopefully.https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/10388/refreshing-or-cleaning-your-profile

@pesala @mib2berlin Thanks for your assistance. In the meantime, I could get it fixed (after a 2 hours "fight" with my settings)
After different tries, I did log out completely, re-logged again. Cleared Sync data again, etc.
And, at the end, I could re-create a different Sync password and make a new fresh synchronization... Wooooooo... what a great time I had
Everything ok now. Thanks anyway. -
I would have waited it out in your stead. Just noticed syncing doesn't work for me currently. Will try my hypothesis in praxis for science!

@luetage For the Sync itself, yes, I could have be a bit more patient but I also had the password issue (same password for profile and sync which seemed not to be really conform with security rules...) That's why, like a brutal viking, I decided to storm the island
