I almost lost my hope for new Snapshot in this week...
@ruario Is there anywhere overall list of domains covered with embedded UA spoofing like this one mentioned
VB-39784
?...How does embedded UA spoofer behave when using 3rd parity one? (extension for example)
-
Praise the devs, simulating browser restarts really works again
-
When the UI process crashes, restart the application (VB-40388)
I hope cyclic restart isn't possible.
-
The configurable alt-key for menu will be a welcome addition for those using multiple keyboard layout.

[Shortcuts] Allow disabling or reassiging the keyboard shortcut (Alt) that opens the Vivaldi menu (VB-12686)
I can see where to disable it, but I don't see where to reassign. Any clues?

Yes! Thank You! \o/

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

And still the highly abusive colour change on the entire menu bar is still there.
Just because something can be done, does not mean it should be done.
-
@bib_vivaldi Why don't you turn it off?
-
@lonm I don't see what this option achieves. It does not disable the Alt + Key shortcuts for the menus, which is right. These are standard for all programs.
One could assign Alt shortcuts before. Alt+P was always the default for opening the Settings. I guess it is designed to help those using Alt combinations for keyboard switching.
My shortcut of Alt+W assigned to the WordWeb Extension, now no longer works, whether the Alt for Main Menu option is enabled or not.
-
@ayespy: How? There does not appear to be a way.
-
@bib_vivaldi Edit the theme and disable "Accent Colour from Active Page." I think that's what you are looking for. You can see the effect of theme changes dynamically.
-
@bib_vivaldi Pesala has it right. Go to Menu/Tools/Settings/Themes, and notice which theme is highlighted as being the one you are using. Underneath the themes is a little box with a plus sign, (to add a new theme), a minus sign (to delete the highlighted theme) and little picture of a pen, which you can click on to edit the theme you are using. When you click on that, you can edit your colors and you can select and deselect features showing the accent color or make the tabs "transparent."
If you don't wish to actually edit a theme, you can select one of the themes that does not use tab and toolbar highlighting by default, like Subtle, Dark, or Olive.

Nice! Thanks.

Guys, I've had a consistent problem for the past several weeks in the snapshots, including today's.
I use the Stylus extension to create and apply local style sheets to web pages, and I have a lot of styles in use. Vivaldi snapshot does not Export the styles for backup (Icon Menu / Manage / Export styles). The download popup appears, I click on Save or Save As, and the process just disappears with nothing saved.
This is a real problem, as it prevents backup for safety and it prevents export to other browsers, and I have a lot of effort invested in the styles.
Stylus' Export function works fine in Slimjet.
I hope this can be rectified soon. Thanks much.
Stats: MX-17.1 Linux (debian 9.3 stable) x64, Xfce. Current Vivaldi snapshot . C2D 2.8ghz; 6GB RAM; SSD

...AND also in Vivaldi [Stable + Snapshot (including the latest one)]. It has never not worked for me. There's something wrong at your end...
What happens with a clean [virgin] profile?
-
@steffie: Whats the name of the extention, please? Where can I see this list? I am also using stylus.

Clean profile, Stylus freshly installed as the only extension, same behavior.
Then I went into Prefs and checked "Always download to default location". Export worked perfectly.
Went back to my main install, changed the download setting as per above, Export worked perfectly.
At least I now have a workaround. So thank you very much for that. It seems Stylus does not cooperate with Vivaldi's download location selector.

Well, the extension is Stylus, of course, but sorry to have accidentally confused you with that picture ... it is NOT part of Stylus, but merely a pic i captured of the directory in which i store my exported settings, & the pic thus is of the KDE Dolphin file manager UI.
