Font and Image rendering

Font and Image rendering in the Chromium engine is so bad I can't use it any more. It's not just Vivaldi its Chrome and Brave, basically anything that uses Blink.
Here are some comparisons on a Windows 10 system
Vivaldi is on the left Firefox is on the rightVivaldi Logo

notice how much sharper the logo. "A browser for our friends" is much sharper. The red is deeper. The VIVALDI is not blurred
look at the fonts here too "Images may be subject to copyright" is much clearer and sharper in FirefoxOranges

The leaf and the orange have much more detail in FirefoxText Example

Home looks blurry and has more sharpness in FirefoxI look at a monitor all day and Firefox is just easier on my eyes. I have tried messing around with windows settings and changing the LCD options in flags but nothing seems to help. It just seems to be an issue with the Blink Engine.

@thshdw I wonder if turning off hardware acceleration would help your situation.

Thanks, I tried that and it makes no difference. I also had some friends compare on their systems. I've also compared Brave, and Chrome. All the same results. Something in the engine causes the images and fonts to seem blurred.

https://1drv.ms/u/s!At4asCrNmgMbhalAFnqxb5AEvunxvQif you take the small icons and place them side by side you see that Firefox is rendering more detail

I found a fix. If apply this css rule to the img tag the issue is resolved.
image-rendering: -webkit-optimize-contrast;
left side is no rule. right side is the css rule applied
https://1drv.ms/u/s!At4asCrNmgMbhalDGTKvfDahghGEngI think it has something to do with font smoothing. Is it possible in some Vivaldi setting to apply this globally ?

If you want to apply this to webpages, you have to use an extension like Stylish or Stylus, or you simply write a userscript and load that. If you want to apply this to the browser UI itself you gotta mod Vivaldi ––> https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/52/modifications

Thanks! I found what I wanted here

Hey OP, were you able to create a mod for this in Vivaldi? Would be grateful if you'd share!
Cheers
