Automatically remove/ignore whitespace in address bar
-
Either whitespace should be automatically removed when pasting a URL into the address bar, or whitespace in the address bar should be ignored when we hit return/go. It's needlessly annoying pasting word-wrapped URLs.
-
How might V be supposed to differentiate between wanted whitespace (which is urlencoded) and unwanted whitespace?
I can see stripping whitespace from start and end of the url, though (but I guess it already does..)
-
@morg42 Unwanted whitespace won't be URL encoded, of course. It will just be whitespace, which doesn't belong in a URL anyway.
That's why other browsers started dropping it so pasting was more convenient and "works like you'd expect".

Maybe if server return 404 error, browser could send new request without spaces.
