Vivaldi 1.14 – Three years of continuous innovation
-
@gtlc Well, how would you implement it then? Should there be a link to markdown help site on every note, or a link to it in the header? And what about html? We can use that too in notes, should there be a linked explanation for it also?
I think you can compare this to every other feature in the browser, nothing is explained in the UI that doesn't fit into a tooltip. There has to be an idea for a practical solution first, then it can be implemented.
-
@luetage just one more button with "?" or "help" in the notes would be sufficient, like the "?" on top of this forum text compsing box.
Help in vivaldi would be better if F1 opens a related page instead of just https://help.vivaldi.com/ -
@ian-coog A help button everywhere that help might be needed is overkill. Until now you did not even know what it was, and you still don't know that it's useful.
The F1 key is the right way to go for this.
-
@pesala I repeat what I just wrote in reply to @luetage :

I realized that we do not need to wait for the email client. It will not be. Instead, there will be old issues and useless unfinished features.
What a pity. I still cannot get rid of Opera 12.
-
Some extensions aren't working properly such as Autoplay Stopper, Disconnect, and Ublock Origin.
-
Magnet links not working?
Why not put it in change log as regression or something? -
@somiknight That's a Chromium bug
-
@ligh @gruz7848 is both depressing and overall pessimistic in his estimates. It would seem he never has anything positive to say. If he can't say anything negative, he will say nothing at all. He is also incorrect in his assessment. That said, the email client will definitely arrive in Vivaldi. I use it daily in test versions of the browser, as do other testers and developers as well, and it evolves by the hour.
It is true that its arrival is slower than hoped, but it turns out it is fully as large and complex a project on its own, as an entire browser - not an app that can be tossed off by a single individual in a matter of weeks. Vivaldi does not want to deliver an inferior product, and will not do so.
But I will say that Vivaldi M3 is not a mirage, and everyone will get to see it and use it.

cool. good work as usual!
one thing though: the search engine list can get pretty long in my experience, making that scrolling list just almost unusable (and very annoying at least) when dragging bottom items upwards. since theres not much more on this options section, maybe that list should just occupy all space available vertically, thus dragging the entire page, not only the list. create/group-by engine categories would be nice too -
@eritrocite Works here. Did you add the suggest URL for Google?
-
@ayespy: Gruz means "loader" (he loads you with negative stuff). I think he understands his special attitude to the world when he chooses his login such as this
-
@martinezz: Export/import bookmarks
Export/import opened tabs
Automatically export/import according to the scheduleAnd, the most important of all, save THREE last sessions by default.
-
@arsz Drag and Drop is already requested. Not sure about tagging; that's probably there already too. Search and vote for them.
Create a new thread in the Feature Requests Forum for the total bookmark count.
-
@dlbryant: as a temporary workaround you can save your session and then renew it

@anderl I am also unable to figure out how to use check boxes. In the image from update it looks like they should be available but I don't know what is the syntax. All the standard ways of declaring them seems to not work here
I second this. Any hints on that precise syntax for check boxes?
Double checked J. Gruber on https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/Inserting "Miscellaneous Symbols" as Pesala mentioned, might not be a practical resolution.
Thanks.
-
@vivab The correct syntax seems to be:
- Clear checkbox
- Marked checkbox
This is easier to type than using miscellaneous symbols, but how is it going to work in a forum post to produce active checkboxes? This will need some coding on the site, surely?
These extensions on GitHub are not part of the basic spec. This is overkill for notes for posting on forums.
-
@pesala These checkboxes neither work in notes nor in forum. They are part of an extended markdown specification and simply do not exist in original markdown.

@billstewart 64-bit is probably the preferred format at this point. Out of my 18 or so installs at this point, I think only about six of them are 32-bit - and those are because they are on 32-bit systems.
