Vivaldi 1.14 – Three years of continuous innovation
-
Hello,
Congratulations to the 3 year old.
I am using Vivaldi from Angang and, I'm glad
then as well as today about the innovations.
Vivaldi not really great keep it up, just the download list left
to see helps me enormously wiser.Would be if the ESC key would also run (download abort, if
you have clicked on download)I install every snapshot, actually the final, of course
just so ne Iddee would also be a blue logo for
the snapshot versions great, or a possibility
that you have several Z.B: red, blue green or so)Sure the question you have probably heard more often,
what does the email program do?Otherwise, I can only praise the team
Vivaldi is class I like to use it, always like this,
You are doing a great job.best regards
MarcusR

@ubik: I unistalled 1.14 and installed 1.13.1, and it resolved a lot of troubles for me. With 1.14, I was losing the control of the tabs, having to close Vivaldi and opening it once again all the time. Now it's ok

@pesala
You did not understand. I meant that the browser does not remember the position of the full-width window. Start browser - It opens small window - Expand - Close browser - Start browser - It opens small window again.

@pesala Thank you for posting, I just enabled sync. For some reason I was thinking it was going to be in this release. Guess I was just too excited for the ReactJS Dev tools to be working again.
-
Vivaldi doesn`t start maximized every time i try. WIndows 10 x64 Pro Vx64.
-
@pesala I suppose that must be it, though I think there's less beauty in that when there are markdown implementations that include it.
-
@pesala
I looked at the help page about new Notes feature. It is ABSOLUTELY USELESS, needed by 0.1% of the population. Maybe easier to use Word or something else? Notes is just NOTES. It should be simple and reliable. -
@gruz7848 said in Vivaldi 1.14 – Three years of continuous innovation:
Notes is just NOTES.
I don't know about you, but when I'm making just NOTES on a bit of scrap paper, even there I use formatting. I might underline stuff or write some of it bigger than the rest. I would expect any decent note taking software to offer the same.
-
I'm unable to start the browser to resume to the pages from my last session. I know how to make that choice in the settings, but Vivaldi wants to start with the Start Page when I select the setting to go to the last session. I can tell it to go to the homepage, and it does that. But the setting to go to the next session does not work.

And still touch and pen input are unusable...
-
Great
-
@gtlc That is something that needs updating in the relevant help page
-
Okay, giving up. Can't get my comment to post where it needs to be.
A help page is probably the right place for it but I've got what I need by making a note with all the syntax in it, always visible and right there in the Notes tab without reference to anywhere external to what I'm doing or where I'm working.
Weird that people seem to struggle with that concept.
-
@gtlc I completely agree with you, I don't even use notes myself, just testing out of curiosity but it's one of the many useless features for me, and I am one of those not knowing what markdown is until it got named in Vivaldi forum
I'm agreeing that some "?/help" button in the notes would be sufficient, redirecting to a help.vivaldi.com page with instructions on notes usage. -
@gtlc Well, how would you implement it then? Should there be a link to markdown help site on every note, or a link to it in the header? And what about html? We can use that too in notes, should there be a linked explanation for it also?
I think you can compare this to every other feature in the browser, nothing is explained in the UI that doesn't fit into a tooltip. There has to be an idea for a practical solution first, then it can be implemented.
-
@luetage just one more button with "?" or "help" in the notes would be sufficient, like the "?" on top of this forum text compsing box.
Help in vivaldi would be better if F1 opens a related page instead of just https://help.vivaldi.com/ -
@ian-coog A help button everywhere that help might be needed is overkill. Until now you did not even know what it was, and you still don't know that it's useful.
The F1 key is the right way to go for this.
-
@pesala I repeat what I just wrote in reply to @luetage :
Help in vivaldi would be better if F1 opens a related page instead of just https://help.vivaldi.com/ -

I realized that we do not need to wait for the email client. It will not be. Instead, there will be old issues and useless unfinished features.
What a pity. I still cannot get rid of Opera 12.

Some extensions aren't working properly such as Autoplay Stopper, Disconnect, and Ublock Origin.
