Sync is here, help us test it – Vivaldi browser Snapshot 1.14.1030.3

@lurtz: I think our server is not entirely happy with the sudden surge of users. We're looking into fixing this.
-
@akbalder: That's definitely something we'll want to fix.
-
oh wow
That's the most unexpected expected thing that happened to me all week. -
@pesala: We'll consider this. In the meanwhile, copy-pasting the password should also work.
-
Bugreport site does not work (SMTP error appears), so reporting here:
-
URLs typed in address bar can not be navigated to (no reaction hitting RETURN)
-
starting typing in address bar does not open history or other suggestions
-
-
@x-15a2: If you click around the "Commit Response" you can make appear the response. It might be useful.
-
@julien_picalausa Yes, obviously a lot of users waiting for this. I logged out, then tried to log in again, Failed twice with Gateway timed out.
I will try again after a while.

@hasanrworld What does re-installing do? It only replaces the current code with exactly the same code. The first sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

about [Mac] Vivaldi launches with maximized window (VB-35034)
Now on my Windows 7 pc (32bit) at work, Vivaldi opens in the exact opposite window size of what it was when closed.
If I maximize and close, the new instance opens with window enlarged to full screen but the status is not maximized, it's just resized to cover all screen, BUT the button to resize it's set as the window was maximized, thus reducing the window more. Reclicking it then actually maximizes the window.
If I close the window while reduced, on next start Vivaldi first opens it at the same size it was BUT then maximizes it.Edit: tried also the 64bit snapshot on my WIndows10 PC, confirmed the "never maximized but covering all screen anyway" status of the window at restart
Instead, after resizing the window to any other size than the predefined one, now it stays correctly sized and positioned where it was when closed.
It's probably just the maximized flag that's not being saved or retrieved correctly.
In any case, reported to bugtracker.
Summary: Window is not anymore maximized on restart
Key: VB-35099 -
I can't validate a search or an url in the address bar (pressing return does nothing).

@cqoicebordel Not sure exactly where I would find what you're suggesting, in part because I'm now unable to login at all:
-
@x-15a2 man by re installation i mean delete everything first then install it fresh done. Do not make it complicated and i am sure you are not philosopher.
-
@x-15a2 I get the same error, didn't manage to login once. Probably their server is overloaded or something. Too many people trying to access it? No idea.
-
Am I imagining things or the browser now much faster (creating tabs and loading new pages)? Is this "Reduce page load progress updates" having so much impact?
-
@hasanrworld aren't you pleasant? I'm NOT going to delete my user data, that's exactly what I'm trying to sync, makes no sense at all. Also, I didn't claim to be a philosopher, just using an old quote.
Also, the issues that I'm experiencing are confirmed to be on the server side.
-
@bionioncle: Confirmed here. Something definitely broke in this snapshot.
Win 10 64bit
-
@x-15a2: Sorry I wasn't clear enough. In vivaldi://sync-internals, when (and if) you have the message "Sync server error", at the top of the sync-internals page, you switch to "Traffic log", where you'll see the same messages. If you click on them, you'll see details on the errors (probably).

This post is deleted! -
@cqoicebordel Gotcha, thanks for that. Right now, since I can't access the sync server at all, the page on that tab is blank.
Hopefully things will settle down in a few days and the server will be able to take the load.
Thanks!

YES !!!!!
THANKS GOD !
