Every picture tells a story – Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1.12.955.3
-
@13-beta2: No devs worked on this task, the designers however had a blast making it
-
@aronand No Devs were harmed in the making of this picture...
-
Yellow minimize button still is yellow, even when I have configured it as "Graphite" in System Preferences on Mac OS. Since three Snapshots, I think.
-
This post is deleted! -
Also worth noting, this one is currently no.3 most upvoted feature request on the forum: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/20037/feature-requests-for-1-12
-
YEEEEEESSSS !
I needed that !
I just didn't know I needed it up until now!
-
@carlonike: It has to redownload the picture to analyse it. So it might take a bit.
-
@13-beta2: Apparently you didn't use the classic Opera's image properties option...
-
@pdray: Thanks for the report, I've confirmed the issue and we are investigating
-
A few comments on that awesome new feature :
- Could it be opened directly from the webpage we clicked the image from ?
- Could we have some HTML infos too ? (alt text, title text, etc.)
- Could it be possible to allow selection of any text on the info panel ?
- Could we also have ICC infos ? (for example on http://www.color.org/version4html.xalter)
- Could it be possible, maybe, to have a color picker from the image ? (to sum up, some tiny dev tools inside this info panel)
- And finally, there is still the "Inspect Image" context menu item when the info panel is open. Might be a good choice, but just in case.
And again, this feature is awesome. I just miss some dev infos in it too
-
@cqoicebordel the picture should be already in cache, that should not take than a fraction of a second.
-
@ian-coog: Yes, but no
Sometimes, the image isn't in the cache at all. And what is in memory is just the "display" part of the image, because it's the only part the rendering engine cares about. So, if it's not in the cache for any reason, it must download it again. -
@cqoicebordel:
"Could it be opened directly from the webpage we clicked the image from ?"
That would be nice. +1"Could we have some HTML infos too ? (alt text, title text, etc.)"
That would not be nice, IMHO: HTML is not photo info :-p -
@mioni: Very hard to do considering Chromium uses the profile for all tabs per window, so it would be massive undertaking to change this to use a incognito profile on a per tab basis.
-
@pettern: But indeed, it would allow multiple profiles per window too. Like having two Gmail accounts open in the same window...
-
@xtremalraven: Hmmm...
Then, add it as an option ! -
The image inspector should always show at least the file size and image dimensions.
When I try this on the profile picture of Maria Popova in the blog post or the pictures of the embedded twitter posts, no information is shown.
Maybe only embedded pictures of different urls dont work? -
@ian-coog: Yes! I need this too.
-
@thot: Thanks for reporting this, fix lands in next snapshot.

[New Feature] Inline image inspector (VB-3075)
Very nice!- When can we add the translations?
- Some websites 'cover' images with some transparent layer thus preventing RMB-click actions. Could this Image inspector be made so that it sees throught such inhibiting layers?
