Why my bookmarks bar has a slightly different color?

#header {display: none;}
Should remove the title bar. I don't know where you'd want to move them, but
.window-buttongroup
is the element you want to target for adjusting window buttons.Thanks.
If I can hide the titel-bar the way you described, the bookmark-bar would be on top. Then I'd like to have the window buttons inside the bookmark-bar, possibly the Vivaldi icon/button at the very left and the tree window buttons on the very right.
But I wouldn' mind either if the Vivaldi button would be within the tab-bar.
/EDIT:
Ok, hiding the title-bar works as described above. But how do I get the window buttons and the Vivaldi button somewhere else? Do I need to fiddle around with the browser.html file? -
@michaa7
This thread might help you. First site comment 5 and 6 (if I counted correct) -
No, you are referring to the wrong buttons (back, forward and so on)
I am referring to the tree buttons "minimize, maximize, close" and the Vivaldi button. They are all gone because I hid the titlebar.
-
@michaa7 I believe that's not possible to accomplish with css alone, because you can't move an element from one parent to another. You need javascript for this, and if you do that, you can move the top tabbar instead of using my bottom tabbar hack, and then you have no problem with the title bar in the first place.

That's what I thought and why I asked whether I need to fiddle around in browser.html
I have html and css knowledge, but no JS skills. So I hope it will somehow be possible in the future.
Thanks for your clarification.

@michaa7 Oh, sry seems like I didn't read carefuly enough.

As is ( bars in this order via CSS: bookmarks - tab - address) I have no vivaldi button and no vivaldi menu available within the bars (as discussed above). As I have a strong preference for this (hierarchical) order I try to live with the shortcomings until it gets solved somehow.
But is there any other way to reach the vivaldi menue? And if so, does Vivaldi have tools to emulate mobile devices (like chromium has) to examine responsive design?
-
It won't get solved, you have to take care of this yourself or live with it.
You are still posting on the wrong forum board -- Modifications is the right one.
VivaldiHooks has an option to move the Vivaldi button to the address bar. You should take a look at it. -

I am still hopeing to find someone who likes my rationale (which isn't fully explained in the above) and will do the work for us. Otherwise I would need to learn JS from scratch, which is doable, but will happen most likely not until my next life due to my limited manpower. So, volunteers are welcome.

Sorry for that. I wanted to follow-up on what was written here previoulsly. So I had to stick with where this thread lives, which is here. Won't do it again, hopefully.

Thanks. Will look into it. I hope I am wrong in assuming this needs programing skills of any kind (nothing here except some bastic html/css).
-
@michaa7 No, just follow the explanation and install VivaldiHooks, it's the easiest way actually. You can also save your own custom.css in the hooks folder if you start using it -- means you can remove the line from browser.html that you used to implement your modifications with and just run with hooks

VivaldiHooks is a good mod, but if the only thing you want from it is moving the Vivaldi menu and the window buttons into the addressbar: you could, instead of installing all of the hooks, just copy the javascript for that particular hook.
https://github.com/justdanpo/VivaldiHooks/blob/master/vivaldi/hooks/move-V-button-to-addressbar.js
Put it in resources/vivaldi and add
<script src="move-V-button-to-addressbar.js"></script>
to browser.html -

You are aware of my modifications?
I could live with haveing those buttons in the addressbar (instead of not heaving them at all). But is there a solution to put them or at least the window buttons im my bookmarks bar (which here is the top bar)?I'll give it a try anyway.

@michaa7 I linked you to wrong hook, first of all. This is the correct one:
https://github.com/justdanpo/VivaldiHooks/blob/master/vivaldi/hooks/move-window-buttons-maximized.js
And it seems to only affect maximized windows, so it's still not as good as moving them to the addressbar.
Secondly,
But is there a solution to put them or at least the window buttons im my bookmarks bar (which here is the top bar)?
Not an existing one, as far as I know, but it shouldn't be that hard to modify the exist javascript in that hook to essentially achieve what you want. I'm not great with Javascript, and by that I mean I don't have a lot of experience with it, but I'll try some things out and get back to you if I manage to get a working version.
Edit: I can't figure out how to append the buttons to the bookmark bar, but making these changes at least shows the buttons regardless of whether the window is maximized: replace lines 8-13 with the following:
"#browser:not(.native):not(.horizontal-menu):not(.tabs-top) #header { display: none } " + "#browser.horizontal-menu .MaximizedWindowButtons, " + "#browser.tabs-top .MaximizedWindowButtons, " + "#browser:not .MaximizedWindowButtons," + "#browser.native .MaximizedWindowButtons { display: none } ";
Perhaps try asking about it in the Vivaldi Hooks thread or message @den_po directly, or maybe someone else can help more.
