Enable Google Chrome Sync (e.g. bookmarks, passwords and settings)
-
It would be great when Vivaldi could enable Google Sync for bookmarks, passwords and settings (if Vivaldi-settings=Chrome-settings).
That feature could be optional. So Vivaldi wouldn't need own infrastructure or customized software. And users could use Vivaldi on different devices. In my opinion it is the only "bug" of the current Vivaldi.
Enable: vivaldi://flags/#password-import-export
Now we can find the default Chrome-Settings on that site:
vivaldi://settings/passwords
-> close the popup
There is a login-button for sync without function. -
@sdtbluethink: Vivaldi will have its own sync. It will not be wired in to the Google Borg.

@ZandathraX: That's correct. It's mostly built, but not finished.

@ZandathraX !!! No, Sync to Google will not be implemented !!!
Wait, when can I sync chrome with vivaldi again? No need to sync my google docs though, it's ok.
I'm so confusedwould it help if I installed edge on osx?

@luetage, these are two different companies with own business.
They will never work together to sync user data.Cheers, mib

@ZandathraX: Nope. Can't say how far out, though. Community is posting something like sixty bug reports per day. Some are duplicates, and some one-off for just that user. Still, there's a Snapshot very roughly every week or so, and each one contains between five and fifty bug repairs and (equally importantly) between zero and three new features. Sync is a long slog, under development for 2.5 years or more, and there's no good way for us to know at this point when it will be ready,
-
I'd think it would be nice to have that option! But as many have commented, it's only a matter of time for Vivaldi to have his own sync, and I think it will be very good! So we can only hope to have this feature!

there is about 1000 caps and options in the enable or disable page
and we are lost in these sittings

@dodonew1
Thank you. With Vivaldi Sync I don't need that anymore. -
