A historic snapshot – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.8.770.9
-
@prince12:
This is it. Not possible. I would like me too. -
Seems there is a difference if one installs the whole 1.8.770.9 installer or uses the autoupdate from 1.8.755.3. On the work PC, I installed the 40mb whole installer because there were problems downloading the delta update, and I have %programfiles%\Vivaldi\Application\update_notifier.exe, in the same dir as vivaldi.exe
In the home PC, I updated via the delta update but I don't have the update_notifier.exe in %programfiles%\Vivaldi\Application, the file is btw inside 1.8.770.9\Installer\vivaldi.7zedit: if it helps, I have this in vivaldi_installer.log
[0302/180027.477:ERROR:move_tree_work_item.cc(32)] C:\Program Files\Vivaldi\Application\update_notifier.exe does not exist -
@dLeon Ok. If it can help, I'm running with dark theme, on KaOS (KDE base distribution) 64bits.
-
sync extension, and bookmark feature, please. This is the only thing now, that is holding me back, to use Vivaldi as my core browser.
-
@dLeon It displays "Search or enter an address" if your address field is empty.
-
@dLeon It's nothing to do with themes. I have tried different themes and switching toolbars on/off or moving them around etc.
In all cases, there is NO scroll bar in the bookmarks panel (and as I mentioned in the other thread, it's not "invisible" either). Unlike Peter's Linux screenshot, where you see a black bar where the scrollbar should be, in Windows there is nothing at the edge of the panel - the bookmark titles just get cut at the last pixel before the webpages are rendered. It also makes no difference how wide the panel is.
-
@mossman UPDATE:
The scrollbar is missing FOR ALL PANELS!
I see the same thing in the history panel...
-
@Ayespy The lastest 4.14 macOS 10.12 Sierra
-
@dLeon It doesn't seem to be an OS-related issue. I'm on Windows and all scrollbars are fine here...
-
Thanks for a snapshot! For me a historic snapshot will be a snapshot with possibility to dock developer tools...
Suggestion: 'Bug report' link under the download links (on this site) -
Bad news, startcom certificates are really not being trusted anymore, chrome 57 must have started blocking them

If you are writing from the forum, go to the blog (link in upper forum menu), snapshot, you'll see the announcement with the download links and a mirror of this forum thread as comments.

@WebGeek I have the same issue with being prompted to save passwords. I tried your workaround but it does not appear to work for me even with a few extra steps:
- Open the settings window
- Check the box to save passwords
- Close the settings window
- Re-open the settings window
- Un-check the box to save passwords
- Close the settings window
- Visit another bookmarked site and login
Vivaldi still prompts me to save the password.
-
@webgeek: I noticed the same regarding the password manager. The new chromium update probably messed up something. In the meantime it can disabled through chromium's internal settings from here: vivaldi://chrome/settings/search#password

What's triggering that missing scroll bar?
It's weird because it also effect Linux.Err... is that a joke?
Missing scrollbar is missing.
I'm not the programmer - if I knew what was causing it then I wouldn't be pointing it out like this!

Yeah, figure. It's fine here in Linux/Debian too.
I even test with creating random super dark theme, the scroll bar still there & noticeable.As I said before - it's not a display issue at all - the UI element is not invoked. The function does not exist.
Edit: (speculation) presumably the scrollbar is supposed to be enabled when the content size is larger than the available visible size - so maybe there's a problem calculating that relationship... like Windows scaling, maybe?
YEP! BUG IDENTIFIED... I set scaling in Win10 from 125% to 100% and the scrollbar appears.
Now, how much commission do I get for solving this for Vivaldi...?!
-
@iAN-CooG Thanks. I ask my web host to solve this issue.
-
@Gwen-Dragon I do not understand, the bug is not on the list of reported ? image
Or could not reproduce the error ?
Here's this problem!
I'm going to do a clean install to see if that will work! -
@Gwen-Dragon Many thanks for informing! I did not understand correctly because my English is terrible! And Google translator does not help much.
Now I get it! Thank you!
I will do a clean installation and see if it will solve!
