Feature requests for 1.8 / 1.9
-
Add the option to hibernate tabs to the right or left.
-
In new feature Muting Tab, add possibility to choose sites which grant the exceptions, like Facebook, Messenger, where sounds are for information character only.
-
@dLeon For me Tabs list or a Tab/Window Manager panel like in Opera
-
Export Bookmark Description and Bookmark Bar/Speed Dial options
When I import bookmarks from a Vivaldi installation to other one it could copy the Description field too and which folders are marked as "show on bookmark bar" and/or "show on speed dial"
-
@CheVe11e_191 For bug reports it would be great
-
@CheVe11e_191 i would love it, when I click on it, show me the sessions and clicking on them I'd see the sites and select which ones I wanna open, for example

Add a setting to allow middle-click on link to open tab in foreground. Yeah, I know that you can use shift-middle-click or make a mouse gesture to do this, but I'd rather have the ability to choose what middle-click does, including swapping the tab opening options for middle-click.

Open Speed Dial pages with Ctrl+Number

@Isildur Very similar to Isildur's request, and here is my two pennies (originally posted here):
Match multiple strings in address bar
The address bar only supports single entry to match now. That is to say, a space entered would be treated as part of the matching string, so it seems that Vivaldi only accept a single and consecutive string to look up in the address bar.
I think it would be nice to allow multiple strings, separated by spaces, to speed up looking up for browsing history and bookmarks. For example, I can type
goo
first to bring up a lot of history and bookmark items, then I type a space andviv
to narrow the results to Vivaldi-related Google search pages. -
@CheVe11e_191 Yes, this is a great idea. I could have sworn OldeOpera had this but I checked and it doesn't. It would be a perfect addition to the panel.

@Maujas said in Feature requests for 1.8 / 1.9:
Please add the option for editing bookmarks (Delete, Rename and so on) directly in folders on the express panel. Currently right-clicking on a bookmark in a folder just opens it in another tab.
Can you explain your steps to reproduce this error? Because I am able to edit Bookmarks by right-clicking on them both in a new tab / bookmarks, and also on the panel. Do you perhaps have the option, Open Bookmark Items with Single Click, checked? Hmm, nope, I checked that and I am still able to right-click and get a full context menu on my bookmarks in the panel including and Edit option. So, what steps aren't working for you exactly?
-
@craftbrewmaster He/she was most likely talking about the bookmarks bar. This issue has been raised already, at least several times.
-
@pafflick: Yes, it can be hard to tell. In English, which is the language the developers and testers work in, there is no such thing as an "express panel." Most Russians, I note, seem to refer to the Speed Dial as the "Express Panel," probably due to translation issues. However, I have also seen the term used to refer to the Bookmarks Bar, the Side Panel and the Quick Commands dialogue (F2). I often am hesitant to respond to "Express Panel" references, because I sometimes can't be sure what the user is actually doing or talking about without more context.
-
Add a context menu item to open a frame / iframe in a new tab.
-
Translate "Paste and go".
-
Add the bookmarks to the horizontal menu like in opera 12
-
Add some sort options for the bookmarks.
I would like to have an easy way to sort them all alphabetically, but all folders first.
