Snapshot 1.5.618.8 - Drag tabs between windows and performance improvements
-
Good, but the old Opera's Windows panel is still unbeatable for managing tabs and windows β¦ hope to see it in Vivaldi too someday
-
holw shit! drag to create new window is finally here! props
-
Indeed, would be a great feature !
Filed VB-21837 for it to be dealt with -
Yes, they display wrongly but work. But that's not something new, they worked in the snapshot before too. No change there.
-
It's partially fixed for me.. '-' is now mapped correctly, but '+' isn't (it's mapped to '=' now, was ']' in the last snapshot :D). I'm on german layout too.
Debian 8, x64
German qwertz layout -
i don't understand (sorry i'm not a native english speaker). Do you mean dragging the tab over the webpage ? Or some components of the UI of Windows ?
-
Ought the bookmarks trash icon be located in bookmark toolbar? This is new behavior for me. Or is it a feature?
-
Same here. Win 7x64
-
Yeah, dragging works but it's really wonky and you have to be precised. But that's a step into right direction.
BTW, Vivaldi still waits few seconds before he starts to load a page. Don't know why. -
Someday when the update check window is always centered and waits a little bit to load after the main browser window loads, I'll be happy. When it becomes a notification in the status bar that tells me an update is available instead of a separate window, I'll be happier.

Just a temporary glitch
-
On W10, I dragged a tab to try to create a new window, and it didn't work. I think right-clicked and move the tab to a new window, and then tried to drag another tab to that window to test. It worked after like 3 tries of doing it, even though I was doing the same motion, just putting the tab beside the other tab between the tab and new tab button. The new tab button finally moved to the right, so I knew it would work, but it wasn't very responsive.
I also noticed that when I drag a tab, the tab doesn't look the same in a dragged state. There is some weird highlight block of the tab's color beside it, depending on where your mouse was on the tab when you drag it.
I've also attempted to drag tabs in between windows in Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon, and it didn't even work at all.

Any news about the windowed full screen videos bug in linux?
-
It works when I drag the tab on the lower right corner, the corner that is right of the clock.
(Win 10 32bit, autohiding bar, I have an option enabled that shows the desktop background when hovering on this corner "peek at desktop")
-
When I drag a tab on the lower right corner, the corner that is right of the clock, a new window is created with this tab inside. It would be nice if the 3 seconds delay I experience would be reduced a bit.

xD
I wanted to test the drag ability, so I dragged the tab down - unfortunately this just dropped the tab on the same window and nothing happend. Chrome got it right and this creates a new window with that tab.
Anyway - i restored the window from maximization and I dragged the tab to the top, out of the window. Somehow there was an Opera Developer under the Vivaldi and when I dragged the tab there I saw a visual suggestion I can drop the tab there⦠So I did and it actually worked!
I dragged the tab from Vivaldi to Opera! The original tab stayed in Vivaldi so it was copied, not moved.
The other way around this doesn't work.
Also dragging between Vivaldi windows is somehow bugged (empty space between tabs after dropping that disappeared after few seconds), but it's a first step for a killer feature, thanks!

I tried some more in Linux, and it still didn't work. I also dragged the tab to the bottom right corner like you did, and nothing happened. I then held the tab while pressing Super + D to show desktop, and then release the tab, and it just started copying itself as a file, so that didn't work. The only way to get it to work is to create a new window myself and then drag the tab there, but that's more work than other browsers, and more work than just right clicking the tab and moving it to a new window through context menu.

Hello!
Cannot drag a tab to speed dial and have it saved as a Speed Dial.
Related to that, if I drag a tab that is not active, it becomes active before it can be dragged.V.
-
yeah, would love to have this fixed
-
Nice, you fixed the numpad thing! Thanks a lot!
Although, there's still something off: With numlock activated, I can't use the single-key commands for zooming and tab switching.
