Snapshot 1.5.609.8 - Chromium update, bug fixes and Web Panel improvement
-
I'm sorry, what? Where is this option?
-
Hey Ayespy, did the Vivaldi devs ever mention if they are working on featuring hibernation for the Web Panels AKA Webviews (as they appear on the Vivaldi Task Manager)?
In any way, it could be manually triggered, or automatically. Personally, I would like it happen when we close the web panel - why should the web panel "eat" our RAM if we can't see it?
-
Hey, g_bartsch, to test VB-21177, you can put on a dark theme, then hover over the minimize and maximize buttons, thats where the changes are
-
Sweet. Thank you. It works. I just hadn't moused over them yet to see it. You know what's funny? I submitted VB-21177! LOL! Just loving your work. Best regards ..

Cant he Vivaldi team a issue with Dropbox not loading correctly in Vivaldi? Every time I I do to Dropbox.com the page renders horribly (with the CSS not loading properly). Will this be fixed?
-
"page actions",under the lower right corner of browser;the 2 baskets icons.
-
Can't replicate your issue. Dropbox renders correctly here. What's your platform? Do you use any extensions?
-
It hasn't been mentioned.
-
In "Page Actions" toward the right end of the Status Bar.
-
Windows 10 and I do use extensions
-
Does anyone notice that autocomplete is a little slow in this snapshot?
-
Yes. Seems laggy to me.
-
The page loading progress indicator seems jerky in this snapshot. W10 64bit V 32bit.
-
Actually it has
-
It's laggy and buggy from the very beginning. I think it's high time for improvements.
-
For some reason the download is extremely slow. Had to get the .exe from a site in Japan…. In app update does not work, times-out.
-
It's been pretty fast for a long time now. It's only slow in this snapshot. Also, I notice page loading speeds have slowed down too, or that could just be my WiFi acting up today. I'll check back tomorrow.
-
I think I notice it too. I think my WiFi could be acting up today, but the page loading indicator is a little odd. I'll check it out more tomorrow.
-
I recall someone mentioning it, but I don't recall a meaningful response like "yeah, we ought to do that" or something. I just recall the idea being floated. So if a dev actually said it ought to be considered, I missed that response.

One example: Someone has a radio station in a web panel and wants it to play on while the panel is not visible. I can imagine some more examples like e.g. messengers that might need to continue running in the background and several other scenarios too.
