Snapshot 1.5.609.8 - Chromium update, bug fixes and Web Panel improvement
-
Please suspend web panels by default.
-
I think Vivaldi would like it on so new users can see it. Why hide features they consider a big part of their work? You do realize how easy it is to hide it? Literally seconds and you have hidden it.
-
Are you saying you want pages you add as web panels "hibernated" or suspended unless you open them?
-
[Win10] Better contrast for hover state on window controls (VB-21177) How can I test this? Maybe I am daft but I can't see any changes? I don't know what to look for?
-
Thank you so much for VB-21371! I can delete that one from my wishlist
Also, thanks for the performance fixes. Since a couple months Vivaldi is running snappier than ever, though it still needs a lot of work.
β----
My Vivaldi Wishlist
1. Performance Optimization: Regardless of features, I think performance and RAM usage is the major issue of Vivaldi right now. I have to close Vivaldi everytime I play a heavy game. I don't have to do it with Edge.
2. Profiles: I need to work with several profiles, each one with its own extensions and cookies
3. Native Windows 10 Notifications: Currently Vivaldi uses Chrome notifications and they appear on top of my tabs.
4. Option to force open all links in a new window: This is very useful for specific configurations.
5. Edit Speed Dial URLs with an "Edit" Context Menu option: Currently we have to use the Bookmarks Menu to do that. I don't ever use the Bookmarks menu.
6. Allow reordering of Speed Dial Tabs
7. Allow customization of Speed Dial thumbnails
8. M3: Let us set up the feeds refresh interval to at least 5 or 15 minutes -
I'm sorry, what? Where is this option?
-
Hey Ayespy, did the Vivaldi devs ever mention if they are working on featuring hibernation for the Web Panels AKA Webviews (as they appear on the Vivaldi Task Manager)?
In any way, it could be manually triggered, or automatically. Personally, I would like it happen when we close the web panel - why should the web panel "eat" our RAM if we can't see it?
-
Hey, g_bartsch, to test VB-21177, you can put on a dark theme, then hover over the minimize and maximize buttons, thats where the changes are
-
Sweet. Thank you. It works. I just hadn't moused over them yet to see it. You know what's funny? I submitted VB-21177! LOL! Just loving your work. Best regards ..

Cant he Vivaldi team a issue with Dropbox not loading correctly in Vivaldi? Every time I I do to Dropbox.com the page renders horribly (with the CSS not loading properly). Will this be fixed?
-
"page actions",under the lower right corner of browser;the 2 baskets icons.
-
Can't replicate your issue. Dropbox renders correctly here. What's your platform? Do you use any extensions?
-
It hasn't been mentioned.
-
In "Page Actions" toward the right end of the Status Bar.
-
Windows 10 and I do use extensions
-
Does anyone notice that autocomplete is a little slow in this snapshot?
-
Yes. Seems laggy to me.
-
The page loading progress indicator seems jerky in this snapshot. W10 64bit V 32bit.
-
Actually it has
-
It's laggy and buggy from the very beginning. I think it's high time for improvements.
