Snapshot 1.1.443.3 - New tab options
-
Indeed, the updater started off the slowest I've ever encountered, and it stalled/err'd at just 11.5 MB (usually it fails here between 23 and 33 MB). But after a restart of the updater, it took off like a scared rabbit and finished successfully. The downloading issues have become sort of a standard procedure any more.

Thanks guys for this amazing work! Just to let you know, there's been some problem with the UI itself in Windows 10 Build 14,136. It seems that everything is "stretched in"
-
Awesome.
I am very excited by a new version. -
Running well so far. I have a couple requests though.
1. On web Panels, have a toggle for mobile/desktop modes. Have a button or in the settings choose your default.
2. Moving tabs to new window without the page reloading.
3. Simple but I like, is download speed on downloading files.Excited to see what comes in the future.

I think we all are. But they have said it's in the works. Would rather it get released when they're comfortable with it working properly But yeah… I do miss that more than just about any other feature from the big browsers.
-
I pasted it on this comments page. It's all the folders that have "cache" in the name in the profile folder
-
Totally confirmed. W10 x64, Viv x64.
-
Here, sir. Same exactly specs as yours.

Pô, ozora, aí vai ter que comprar… Se tivesse outro modo de testar isso...
-
I'm yearning for that too, treego. Turbo-bookmarks with case sensitive. It was awesome in old Opera…

Hello!
I have been waiting for a year for Vivaldi 1.0 to start using it.
The main problem which I noticed in the first few minutes is that all the tabs at startup, and all the tabs in the background, do not refresh until clicked on. This is most annoying, because every time I start Vivaldi I have to click on all tabs from last time to refresh them.
I think this is a bug (rather than a feature) since background tabs sometimes refresh themselves and sometimes don't. When exiting and starting Vivaldi though, no tabs refresh automatically. The other thing on my wishlist is configurable mouse gestures. The Opera 12.x kind is the best - map everything to anything.
Thirdly, tab stacking like in opera 12.x is easier to use - there was a small arrow next to the stack which expands it without the need to open every tab inside. I don't mind the existing options, but would like that small arrow back as well Not sure if this is what you're talking about here.
Fourthly - when refreshing a page, I would like the page to scroll to my last position. Currently it goes to the start of page.
And finally, I would like more tab closing options. Specifically, would like to be able to chose - go to next right tab after closing.
The first problem is the biggest one, and preventing me from really enjoying using Vivaldi.
Having a bunch of features is a very good thing, but I would like if you focused on improving existing features more (like described above) to make them spit and polish.
The old Opera was not built in a day, and that is exactly why it always felt slick - all features merged together seamlessly.

Hi,
cool, thanks
2 Bugs:
1. The about page is not zoomable
2. When an update is prepared and you only have to hit "install an restart vivaldi now" –> you can't active the button with "space", you have to click on it.2 FR:
1. Please give us a higher zoom level for websites!
2. Please give us a shortcut to in/decrease the zoom in 10% steps - like in old Opera daysOS: Win10 x64 PRO all updates
Vivaldi: Current snapshotThanks

Just a wonderful browser.
However, when I change to use in incognito mode. There are not thing difference with normal mode. I mean the UI is the same with normal mode. Is that an intention? -
Yeah, all these request will be fulfilled eventually, not sure about the small arrow one. But maybe, I hope so.
-
I'm not sure if it's my connection or PC right now, but I feel a noticeable performance hit on this new build.
-
Cannot confirm any noticeable "snappiness" improvements. Despite that, every listed item is immediately recreated upon Vivaldi restart.
I think the always growing Top Sites cache is a much better target.

A pinned stack is nothing but a set of pinned tabs. I do have all my major Vivaldi/Chrome settings tabs in one stack - and would love to pin them with one click (e.g. to save them from accidental closing).

Some feedback.

When you create a new folder on speed dial using the '+' icon, it will be added into bookmarks on the side panel. However, when you remove it on Speed dial, it doesn't remove in the bookmarks in the side panel. I was just messing around with it and I have multiple 'New Folders' in the bookmarks.
-
I enabled 'Switch tab by scrolling' and use the ALT+scroll wheel function. However, more often than not, it will open the browser menu since ALT is the shortcut for it. This hinders tab switching since when the menu is out, the tab doesn't switch and you have to click it away before you are able to do anything.
-
Also, I feel Vivaldi's browser animation needs work. At least for me, I open and close tabs a lot and use the Speed Dial as my main bookmark. Having a smooth animation really adds a nice overall experience for me. It's one of the reason I switched to Opera browser from Chrome. It adds a very nice and smooth flow as I interact with the browser.

Please add scroll to Top/Bottom mouse gesture.
-
Please use overlay scroll bar. It adds a cleaner design and adds more real estate.

Some other things I just noticed.
1. Website logo detection could be way better in Speed dial. At the cost of repeating myself, Opera 12 does it best. Also, it inherits the website description from the site itself, and in the old opera I can drag and drop a tab into Speed dial. In Vivaldi, I cannot.
2. When going back-forward on a webpage, it completely reloads. Meaning if I had text written (like I am doing for this comment) it will be erased. Opera 12 was cool because it did not refresh the page if I did not want it to, so if I accidentally clicked back and forward, I could just keep writing.
3. Bookmarks drop-down context menu missing from the 'V' in the upper left. It only leads to bookmarks in left panel.
