Chromium bump to 126 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3371.4

about:blank used to be black, now it's white. So bright. Anyone else?
-
@ffuser1 Yes, same for me (6.7 Stable + 6.8 Snapshot / Windows 11).
-
Far as I know, about:blank has always been white.
Also, people should stop relying on ancient pages that are not even a Chromium url and might be removed at any point. It's only there because it was a Netscape thing and other browsers adapted it. Just create a blank html page and use that as your startup blank page.

about:blank
You need the page for what?
-
@DoctorG that's the default blank page (tab) that I use and is one of the 4 options available in settings. I think this is due to my dark theme. I can't think of anywhere else I could change this setting,
-
@ffuser1 You could create a Command Chain:
- Open Link in New Tab, about:blank
- Filter Sepia
Assign a shortcut to the command such as Ctrl+N or Ctrl+T.
-
@Pesala I guess I'll have to if this is the new default. Not sure why the change though. Doesn't seem like a benefit. Thanks for this!

It is time for a new snapshot…

@Zalex108 I am seeing some upstream changes in one file, at least, related to H264 hardware acceleration on Nvidia GPUs using drivers older than 31.0.15.3623 on Win 10. Don't know if it is related to your issue
I've seen the short description on the ://GPU but the linked CRBug it's private
At the moment,
V is getting HW/A but from the CPU HD3000, since after remove/install/upgrades, the nVidia is not showing any load, now even on V Stable.Although it's use is forced on the nVidia Panel there's no GPU response.
At least, I've found that the Vivaldi.exe renaming to Chrome.exe made the SW only for HW/A.
So this aparent trick has its downsides on some systems.Thx

No shots for Ruarí today.

Hi,
Finally, found a way with a Switch--in-process-gpu
Since then, it works normally on the Test and Productivity Profiles.
Will need to review it for a while more, works fine at the moment.
The driver is currently the first one, 376, 381 and 391 showed some problems.
Since now works, I will not test with more up to date drivers for a while.Specs: I5 2410 | W11 23H2 | nVidia 520M | Driver V 376.xx
Thx all!

I still have issues with the address field dropdown. Very often I'll type something and I'd get a match for it highlighted (for a bookmark's title or nickname), but when I hit Enter, I'm directed to a default search for the matched word.

There seems to be a problem with Sync, since a few days now.
Status from last completed session: Commit Step Result : Protocol error (CONFLICT).
Uploading of files has a conflict with some other Clients. What Clients?
After starting Vivaldi it seems ok, but after a few seconds Sync hangs.VB-107204

@Thot
Not in Linux.
Dort funktioniert alles bestens. With a nice signature stating which operating system you have, this wouldn't have happened.
Darf ich fragen, was dein Umstricken eines 'macOS' zu einem schönen Linux macht?
Hast du schon eine passende Linux-Distribution gewählt?: tony_happy:: tony_laughing:

May I ask what your reknitting of a 'macOS' to a nice Linux is doing?
Had no time yet, but once I tried some Linux. Linux booted from iso but booting halted.
The above problem: could that also be my location or the router? I had rebuilded the telephone system here these days over the router.

Wäre dann aber erst mein zweiter Versuch irgendwas auf eine Iso zu bekommen, via MacOS :-oIf time permits: Q4OS
But then it would be my second attempt to get something on an Iso via MacOS. :-o -

If other web pages load normally in Vivaldi, it should actually behave the same with 'Sync'.
