This is how it looks in Edge, nobody complains but yeah Vivaldi has to be something "special" and "fix bug" by introducing the discomfort for users... I'd expect this from Microsoft, not Vivaldi team.

If anything, I can't understand WHY I can't customize the position of those buttons etc. in the vertical tabs bar, when Vivaldi was mentioned as replacement for crappy Opera by for example keeping the possibility for users to fully customize the browser. I don't like this dictating of how I have to use my computer.

I want it back when it was, super annying change but finding in that post that you can dbl click on empty space to get new tab is a live saving for now. still one more click is wrong

I also struggle with that UI change. Try to find a way to get the button back to previous place.
When tabs in horizontal mode, new tab button placed jsut behind tabs as expected. The problem is present only on vertical tabs

For workaround i use mouse gesture "swipe down" to create a new empty tab. This gesture works similarly both on page vew and tab bar.

Just +1. Double clicking is not a workaround, it is inconvenient. Please revert this change or make an option to move plus button where it was.

Hi, the moving taget + button was a bug, this is now fixed.
The solution in Edge is more elegant but if you open some tabs, Edge does the same.
Try hold right mouse button and move down 10 mm, nothing can beat this.

This gesture is very handy, i used it from old good Opera times. But it's not posible to use it on laptop touchpad.

Hi, thanks for the info, I cant read all threads.
It is always the best solution if all users are satisfied but scrolling to reach a button was a nightmare.

This kind of thing is likely to take weeks, not hours, and it's actually not the most important bug (out of thousands) they are working on. That said, I expect a resolution sooner than usual.

I not even noticed it until now, because I use the Mouse gesture (dragging few cm vertical) to open a new tab, its way more confortable for me than searching and clicking on the icon.

A new dynamic solution has been proposed. If its coding works out and it passes internal testing, Users will then see it.

@krtektm The dynamic solution was implemented more than six months ago. The new tab button follows the lowest tab until that tab is almost to the bottom of the window, and then the new tab button transfers to the bottom bar of the tab list so that it can be used even if one has not scrolled to the last tab.
